AutoLoader 3.5-4

Enhancement - Input Parameter FileInfluence surface parameter - A new parameter "INF_SRF_PARAMETER_FILES" has been created to allow different parameter settings for different Influence surfaces within the same run.Mixed Loads Parameter - A new parameter "MIXED_LOADS" has been created for use with AASHTO to either allow or suppress the mixing of UDL loaded lanes and Alternative Vehicle loaded lanes on the same carriageway.Specification of Origin Parameter Amendment - The Origin parameter can now take either 2 or 3 values rather than 3. Originally it required an X, Y and Z value, it is now only necessary to specify the X and Y values.Scope of Vehicle Direction Parameter Amendment - The Vehicle direction parameter ("VEHDIR" or "VEHICLE_DIR") is now also associated with Additional and Alternative vehicles.Enhancement - Vehicle File parameters and methodsA new parameter "SYMMETRICAL" has been added to allow for vehicles having the same effect whether run backwards or forwards. This parameter suppresses the second run which reduces the run time for symmetrical vehicles when the "Both" directions option is selected. A new parameter "UNITS_INPUT" has been added for vehicles that don't have SI native units, they may now be specified with their native units. A limited number of mathematical operators are available for use in the Vehicle files e.g. add (+), subtract (-), division (/) and multiplication (*). The method of reading in and processing vehicles has been improved. Each vehicle is read in only once for each analysis, this will reduce File Input / Output and improve run times to offset against the increased run times produced by other new features.Enhancement - Autoloader Load AnalysisInfluence Line Smoothing - Methods have been developed to provide smoothing for Influence lines that are not on or closely adjacent to grid lines. With The original methods it was possible for loadable areas to be fragmented. This has been overcome by the smoothing at low levels of influence, however the smoothing is progressively lower at high levels of influence so that the maximum height of the peak is retained. The results should be less fragmented due to the reduced number of loadings output, and also more accurate.Small enhancements have been made to Console output, and more significantly, the level of detail has been increased in the summary file output. Errors are now also reported to the Summary file as well as the Console. If the Output units are other than the default SI units, then this is reported. Lane Types are shown on the Lane summary table. Variable Space or Variable Step Vehicles have now their state number output as well as the Vehicle nameAmendments have been made to stop small superfluous loadable areas being generated at the end of the deck. Amendments have been made to reduce the incidence of single UDL patches being split into a number of contiguous smaller patches. The Tolerance level has been reduced to provide more precision at low levels of Influence. For AASHTO, Autoloader now places a single lane if the carriageway width is less than 20 ft but not less than 12 feet. For AASHTO, The number of lanes loaded does not have to be the maximum possible as dictated by the width of the carriageway. Previously load combinations were generated by adding the loads in order of load intensity. Now all load combinations are checked no matter how likely or unlikely they are to generate most onerous results.

Bug fixesPossible errors in the number of states of a Variable Space vehicle (3615)The problem with use of "Both" for the Influence Parameter (4106)Lane loads and truck loads cannot be used together in Autoloader. (4118)Autoloader generates wrong loads when using millimetres (4297)When AASHTO truck and lane loading are both invoked Autoloader doesn't always correctly identify which of the two is critical. (4408)Autoloader Input file path lengths limit for "Input" parameter (4468)

Bug fixes

LUSAS Modeller 13.5-4

Bug fixesRepeated errors occur when the font angle is not given in the label display properties (4088)New graphs are placed behind other windows/dialogs when created from LPI dialogs (4132)Mesh drawing layer added incorrectly (4199)Animation doesn't update active deformed mesh (4215)The "show results' group flag is not saved in model file (4216)Switching on 'active only' mesh changes mesh colour (4217)Vehicle load BS KEL assessment always generates errors with respect to the loaded length (4219)Friction and wobble losses incorrectly reported from prestress wizard (calculation is correct) (4224)LPI function 'existsAttributeByName' returns an error if the attribute name does not exist (4233)Unable to use comma as local decimal character when defining variations or when defining geometry by coordinates (4253)Crashes can occur when deleting a group in a model with many shared groups (4256)Loading tabulation terminates abruptly with errors (4259)Error in transformation of results using spherical coordinate systems (4264)Minimum length of load arrow ignored when results loadcase active (4266)Unnecessary alert when changing from values/vectors of stress at gauss points to values/vectors of displacements (4267)

LUSAS Solver 13.5-5

Bug fixesSpring supports on slidelines do not function correctly (231)Cannot mix pore pressure and standard elements (2426)Friction slidelines give incorrect force output (4028)System error (FMFIV2 PROCESSOR) reported during element assembly of enhanced strain elements when using GNL (4092)Tied slideline definitions are lost if step reduction occurs in the first increment/time step (4201)Acceleration loading applied via CBF loading is applied incorrectly when assigned to joint elements without mass properties (4246)

Bug fixes

LUSAS Modeller 13.5-3

Bug fixesReport wizard errors when using combinations that are mixed with a list of loadcases. (4144)Yield flags are not displayed when using Mohr Coulomb model (4146)Grillage wizard produces invalid orthogonal grillage with overlapping lines, points and elements when specified angle causes skewed corners to have overlapping x coordinate.(4150)Applying a prescribed pore pressure is ignored during tabulation (4152))Curved carriageways in VLO interface are not checked for parallel lines (4164)Vehicle Load Optimisation gives an error message when straight lines are parallel but rotated. (4165)Section property calculator can generate erroneous error message - "odd number of intersects found for surface x at horizontal line y" (4169)When prescribing pore pressures to a line of a surface meshed with QAX8P elements the erroneous message "Loading type tpdsp component 10 invalid for some/all nodes" is issued, (4170)Report wizard generates erroneous errors 'icol' out of range at line 5400 for larger models.(4179)Modifying values or vectors of displacement (e.g. transforming the local directions) changes the deformed mesh plot. Similarly adding a deformed mesh plot modifies values and vectors of displacement. (4186)Norton Antivirus 2002 software complains when using some parts of the Modeller user interface. (4192)Prestress wizard generates forces at incorrect location for curved beams (4193)

LUSAS Solver 13.5-3

Bug fixesBTS3 Eccentricity results output on nodal line instead of beam axis (4114)Confusing results can be obtained when 3D beam elements are activated after they have been displaced when inactive during a previous stage in the analysis. This occurs because the position of the dummy node that defines the local beam axes does not move with the element when it is inactive. Under these conditions the element local beam axes are not as intended when the element is subsequently activated leading to unexpected behaviour.(4143)Consolidation with nonlinear control does not give the same (correct) results as consolidation with linear control and changes in porosity do not affect results for consolidation with NL control (4156)

Bug fixesMessage re invalid productID or evaluation version in operation after initial installation (3350)sk32w.dll missing when running donglechk.exe (4057)

LUSAS Modeller 13.5-2

Bug fixesIf you use the option 'Both' in the menu item 'Loaded influence area' in the 'Set influence surfaces' section of the Vehicle Load Optimisations form then the loading patterns produce vehicle and patch loads but the two types of load are not put together in the same loadcase. (4006)Modeller crashes when trying to add a curve to a graph (4098)When zoomed in to a large model, the click (not rectangle) selection sometimes appears to have too large a tolerance - and selects items some distance from the mouse (4103)When a carriageway is specified in the Y global direction a warning message is given that carriageways have to be parallel. This is incorrect and the carriageways are tabulated correctly. (4125)If selected items are removed from a group, and this causes an empty shared group, the empty shared group will be deleted automatically. If the shared group was also the current group the program is put in to an unstable state and will crash at some point in the future. (4129)Under some circumstances the LPI function getCurrentViewResultsTransformData returns incorrect xyangle - truncating to an integer or corrupting completely (4137)The material properties for Titanium in the material library are incorrect. (4140)The Scroll-bar in Report Wizard fails for >12 loadcases (4145)When running Solver from within Modeller the Norton anti virus 2022 software complains (4157)When activating basic combination which includes an envelope an erroneous error message is issued if the basic combination is activated with no active component selected. (4158)Modeller sometimes crashes when closing model if items selected in treeview (4159)LPI function group.add erroneously pops up confirmation dialog (4160)

LUSAS Solver 13.5-2

Bug fixesSolver runs slower in 13.5-1 than 13.4-6 (4104)Initial stresses are ignored if specified for an element assigned with the Mohr Coulomb material (model 65). (4128)

EnhancementsOption to delete curves from graphsBug fixesConfiguration tool reports negative memory if the page file is very large (3368)Encrypted VBScripts (*.vbe) fail on Korean Operating Systems. (4065)

LUSAS Modeller 13.5-1

Bug fixesAutoloader AASHTO implementation is incorrect (3331)When viewing picture files in expose the left hand side of the annotated window border is missing. (3548)Patch loading dataset numbering may not be in sequence (3676)Tabulation and solve of influence analysis manually will lead to solving twice. (3801)The transformation of global results, such as displacements, using an angle in the xy plane via the Transformed button on the Contour layer does not operate correctly. (3995)Choosing 'none' for IMD damping has the same effect as choosing 'LUSAS values' even though the user interface remembers that 'none' was requested (3996)Composite fibre directions cannot be checked as the drop down menu does not show the available layers in Attributes > Composite > (4001)In time zones which are not an exact number of minutes from GMT (e.g. Adelaide, Kabul), and when Daylight Saving Time is in effect, Modeller mistakenly believes that the user is rewinding the clock between opening/creating and saving a model. (4003)Annotation which overlaps the bottom or right of the picture can 'wrap' around and thus be drawn full height or full width. This is particularly noticeable when the contour key overlaps the bottom of the picture - it appears to be replaced with a vertical bar of colour, usually red. (4008)Korean Vehicle Loads use superscript "2" characters for error message boxes but this is not compatible with Korean fonts. Giving Scripting errors. And DB Vehicles are defined the wrong way. (4046)The scripting function loadcaseHasResults does not work for eigenvalue analyses, be they loaded on top of a model or the results file only loaded. (4050)If you load a results file alone and extract the results filename using the getActiveResultsFileName function it returns the name of the most recent file loaded - or a blank string if none. (4051)Report Wizard errors if more than 30 Transformations (4071)Korean DW loading not working (4072)getElementByNumber from VBScript returns an undefined object but no error if element does not exist (4073)Saving model with non structural mass as cmd file gives invalid material when imported (4080)Error in semiloof triangular element local axes in Modeller results in incorrect stresses at nodes. (4096)

LUSAS Solver 13.5-1

Bug fixesThe stress recovery/output phase of big eigenvalue analyses requires a large amount of memory. (1171)System error when requesting non symmetric solution of symmetric problem (2666)If non-structural mass elements with unequal directional masses are used in an eigenvalue analysis, and the local element axes do not align with the global axes, then the mass participation factors will be computed incorrectly. (3553)Slideline analysis fails if only triangular elements are in use (3563)Standard Frontal Solution significantly slower 13.4-4 and above (4058)

PATLUS 13.5-1LUSPAT 13.5-1FVLUSAS 13.5-1Expose 13.5-1

AutoLoader 3.3-4

Bug fixes Autoloader designates loading in all lanes where the influence line has an "adverse" portion. This is irrespective of lane load modification factors given in AASHTO clause 3.12.1. Autoloader should leave lanes (even in the adverse area of the influence surface) unloaded where this will produce "maximum stress" (clause 3.6.4) (3331)
