Land use planning process of TABILand use planning process developed by TABI

i: Preparation of SIM and 2.5 D Topo

2: Village Boundary Mapping

3: Data Collection: socio-economic, NR

Timing - Scheduling ?

1: do not conduct all tasks in 1 village first, then move to all task in next village, etc

2: Do some tasks in all villages, then next tasks in all villages, etc

> Example: 8 village Goomban: Task1&2=1.35 mth, Task 3 &4=1.5 mth, Task 6 = 2 mth = 5 months for full Goomban.

During wet season

4 day/1 village = 1 mth for 8 villages

6 day/1 village = 1.5 mth for 8 villages

6 day/1 village = 1.5 mth for 8 villages

Preparation: 1 week, meeting: 1 day

3: Development of vFALUP Process

Initially (2009-2010) followed the green PLUP manual

Then saw that this was unsatisfactory for various reasons and started to develop improved process.

Key aspects of improved process:

• Work in all villages of a Goomban

• Start village networking from the beginning

• Make repeated missions to village - each mission focus on 2

aspects of LUP

• Ensure focus on current land use and forest cover
