Luddenham Public School Term 1 Week 10 1 Term 1 has been an exciƟng and busy term in our classrooms with all teachers and students working hard with a strong focus on improving our students’ learning achievements across the school. By the end of Term 1 our students will have had 53 days of learning at school. The Kindergarten students have seƩled and quickly adjusted to the rouƟne of coming to school each day. The Years 5 and 6 students are leading our school well as Peer Support leaders and all of our students are focussed on doing their best and being acƟve learners each and every day. This week Class 3/4 has been working with a researcher from Newcastle University looking closely at the quality teaching and learning pracƟces in our classrooms. Later in the year the students and teachers of 3/4 and 5/6 will be part of the Quality Teaching Rounds Project in partnership with Mulgoa Public School to further highlight and improve our current quality teaching and learning pracƟces across the school. Thank you Mrs Ellul and Class 3/4 for sharing your classroom with the research assistant from Newcastle University on Monday and Tuesday. Today, all staff across the school parƟcipated in our first Spiral of Inquiry for 2019 with a focus on number talks. Number talks focus on developing our students’ development of mathemaƟcal thinking using mathemaƟcal mental strategies. We are excited to start this new project with all learners across the school. Tomorrow we will be having Parent Teacher Interviews from 3pm ‐7pm. These interviews Ɵmes give everyone the opportunity to discuss the progress of the students with parents and caregivers. Parents are their children’s first teachers and together we conƟnually support our students to achieve their best. CongratulaƟons to all Cross Country runners at both cross country carnivals last week. We are proud of all of you. The Zone Cross Country will be held on Wednesday 8th May 2019.
