During this assignment, I will research the issue about what is really happen in Lubang Buaya. I will get varies of information from the videos, newspapers, events and so on by going through the Internet. Before I start to write about this whole thing, I just want to state my own opinion in this issue. I do not believe what the events that was remaining showing in the Lubang Buaya. I believe the history is the clip that we choose to memorize.

INTRODUCTION

Sukarno was the first president of Indonesia from 1945 to 1967, but then he was place by his general Suharto. Until his death, he still remained under house arrest. Sukarno is the leader of the capitalism. In Lubang Buaya, the guide told use the seven generals was kidnapped and tortured, killed by Gerwani, the member of the communist women’s organization. The guide said, the seven general was tortured by six communism women. Soon, the communism women was prison.

According going through the Internet, I have got some information about what happened in details. The Thirtieth of September Movement is the organization of Indonesia National Armed Forces, which is not official. They was trying to assassinated six Indonesia Army generals, but it was a failed coup. In the following days, the army was blamed the coup on PKI (Indonesian Communist Party). Soon, a numerous of communist people was killed. At around 3:15 am on 1 October, soldiers kidnap seven generals, after all of them have been dead, their bodies were buried on the well of the Lubang Buaya. From this source, we can see that it differs from the event that was told in Lubang Buaya. The guide told us the people who killed the generals was communist, then why this source is say it is not communist, the government just blame the coup on the PKI? In my views, I think the government want the citizen in Indonesia hate communism, because Sukarno is capitalism, perhaps it for his own profit, perhaps it because the whole world ideology, which is against the communist.

In the early morning of October 1st the girls and women were woken up by the loud sounds. They heard the big shot sounds, laughs, shouts, etc. They saw the soldiers with generals who were kidnapped. Some of them had already dead, some of them were still alive, but they were shot. Finally, all of their bodies were thrown into the well. They said, the solider were so violent and ruthless, they thrown the bullets and insults to the general, they had already dead though. There was also a women can prove what they said are correct. Because she was arrest as the member of the communist, but actually she is not even the local people, just the foreign people. She asked them is that the truth that they tortured generals, while she was in the jail. To her surprised, they didn’t do it at all. For the information of the guide in the Lubang Buaya, however, he said the generals was definitely tortured by the PKI’s women. Why did he blame this whole murder thing on the PKI?

SOURCE3From the video, we can see recently the doctor who checked the dead generals, he said there is no tortures on their body. But the report that was shown as there are tortures on their body definitely. But why Sukarno made up the whole fake event that make me people to remember it?

CONCLUSION

From my point of view, I believe ‘The history is the version that we choose to remember’. The history that we have been told in the Lubang Buaya is the whole fake event. But there are still a lot of Indonesian people believe it. I think this sort of situation also happens in the Japan. For example, in the past, Japan army invaded China for such a long time, especially the most famous event Nanjing Massacre, they have killed hundreds thousands of innocent chinese people. Nowadays, the Japan government changed the history by themselves. They have told their children how much help that they have gave it to China in the past. That was so unfair for those innocent people who was killed. In general, every country have their own secret that won’t share to their citizen, but we still need to think about the reliable of the history in the past.
