Scalable Network IntelligenceThe LEOS product family contains an unmana-ged switch, a light managed switch, a fullmanaged switch and a router. These productsoffer a scalable feature set which is fitting to thedifferent requirements of complexity at Ethernetnetwork installations.

ReliabilityA major characteristic of LEOS is the remarkablereliability in operation. Unplanned maintenancework can be reduced to a minimum. This is aresult of LÜTZE´s long lasting experience with on-board electronics and quality made in Germany!

AvailabilityIn case that the communication to other networksegments is disturbed, it is still important to keepup the communication to the available networkdevices on a redundant way. LEOS is thereforeable to operate in ring topologies.

Network SecurityThe LEOS Router can protect the network againstexternal influence with a configurable firewall.

Railway ComplianceAll LEOS products have been developed exclusi-vely for the use on rail vehicles under high pro-cess standards. The products are developed andtested according to the standards EN50155,EN50121-3-2, EN50124, EN61373 and meet therequirements for railway compliance.

Easy HandlingPlanning, integration and maintenance ofEthernet-based networks must take place fast,safe and reliable. During the commissioningphase or during planned maintenance sets of atrain, it is important that the switches can beconfigured without the use of a special softwaretool. LEOS devices can be configured via a webinterface. The most exciting part is that theseconfigurations can be cloned easily from onedevice to another.

LEOS – Ethernet Solutions for Railways

LEOS devices are more than consist switches, they can be used in Ethernetnetwork topologies on trains wherever a managed function is needed. Thetechnical ability and feature set of LEOS can be configured to separate theprocess control data (communication between control units) from the diagnosticdata or passenger information data. The RSTP protocol allows the installation of aring topology and guarantees a high availability of the consist network installation.

C Made for Ethernet Topologies on Trains

The Network Address Translation (NAT) can be used in order to encapsulatenetwork end devices of a consist network. By the continuous translation ofIP-addresses and Port Numbers (PAT), the Ethernet Consist Network (ECN)devices become invisible for network devices outside of the consist, but can stillcommunicate to devices from other consists within the train.

A side effect of NAT is the ability to clone network configurations from one deviceto another. This saves configuration time and installation cost. This function isneeded, when vehicles from the same type are used multiple times within the train.

Configuration

LEOS devices can be easily configured by using a web browser, noadditional tools are required. The final configuration can be saved andcopied to other devices either by using just a computer or via USBflash drive.

Installation

LEOS devices have a small-sized mechanical design and can be mountedin the designated area of installation by mounting it with screws or on aDIN-Rail.
