    LTS %&EL$WORK RE%LE'T&ON

    1. Are there improvements in your tutee’s attitude towards the

    subject/s taught over time? Specify.

Before started to teach my tutee! wondered how it is to be a

tutor. was "ong as#ing myse"f how to do it and wanted to search

for the answer what the fee"ing was of being one! an $%S tutor.

And when started to teach! met a &rade ' %utee named

Agustina (oay. She is bright! artistic and she’s a "itt"e bit shy. )ith

continued tutoring and conversation with each other and with our

sma"" group composed of )i""iam*that’s me! +ir"y ,ane! ,ayson!

-herry ay and B"anche! we became "i#e bar#adas’ and began

that so ca""ed job rotation with each other teaching another then

another around the group giving the chance of e0posing our "itt"e

tutees with dierent tutors within the group. As a resu"t! they get

to be taught ath! 2ng"ish! a "itt"e bit of Science! games! drawing!

    sp"ashed with watching 3isney movies and de"icious snac#s. 4ur

varied and uni5ue way of teaching the chi"dren made them

motivated to "earn with us and "isten with every word we say*

they’re absorbing them a"". %he atmosphere was not that of a

face6to6face serious conversation with each other but a

surrounding that they are used to which improved their

comprehension of the "essons than when they 7rst met us.

%hey’ve gain interest in studying with us in a way of not forcing

them but ma#ing them "i#e to. She painted me in the drawing

boo# using the crayons have given in advance inc"uded in it

captions in 2ng"ish "anguage with grammars that are e0ce""ent in

structure* was impressed of her! very much.

    2" (ers)nal E*+erien,eA. )hat are the prob"ems encountered and the so"utions ta#en?

At 7rst! there was no prob"em in teaching my tutee but when

there were other chi"dren! about 8! whose tutors were absent or

who did not have any! was confused on what topic to teach them

in ath because they! inc"uding my origina" tutee! have dierent

&rades in e"ementary. And at times gave them something to

answer in ath! the "ower grades had di9cu"ty of understanding

the 5uestions so gave her another 5uestion by as#ing her what

was current"y the topic that was discussed by their teacher then

made another 5uestion sheet and made her answer. %hey werevery respectfu" and friend"y and had none to comp"ain about

them. )e get to eat snac#s and watch movies as a reward of

7nishing the math prob"ems ’ve given and a bit of photo shoot in

    every end of the tutoring.

    B. )hat have you "earned from the e0perience? :ow did your

e0perience in teaching your tutee/s he"p you to become an

    eective teacher?

’ve "earned many things whi"e teaching the chi"dren; ’ve

"earned that even the poor have their own hidden ta"ents that

can’t be underestimated by anyone. )hi"e teaching! rea"ized

that chi"dren need to be convinced! inspired and motivated to

"earn and "isten to you and did it by giving her snac#s and "etting

her watch movies after each session as rewards. oreover! it is

important to greet them with a smi"e when they arrive to ma#e

them c"ose to you and not be afraid whenever you’re going toteach him or her. Smi"ing on him or her wi"" ma#e him/her smi"e

bac# creating an atmosphere that is necessary for e9cient

    "earning.

    " (ers)nal E*+erien,e

)hat is the impact of $%S in your "ife and how can you app"y it as

a student! son or daughter! future professiona" and citizen of your

    country?

t is important to cu"tivate the soon to be foundation of our

country which is today’s chi"dren! the future ho"ders of success.

2ven of that "itt"e short time tutoring them! we #now that in our

hearts the fee"ing of being proud that we’ve he"ped someone by

our own hands predominates. )ith that "itt"e amount of he"p! it

can bene7t someone. )ith that smi"e! you’ve inspired someone.

)ith sma"" deeds comes great change.

a"ready made a dierence in her "ife and the others by being

    there! as a student of Si""iman =niversity! as a cadet of S=6$%S.

    ’m proud to be one>>

Actua""y! my name was not rea""y posted in the bu""etin board

of accepted students for $%S*and that means wi"" not be an $%S

cadet. was sad at that moment thin#ing of the circumstances

that the -)%S have no avai"ab"e s"ot and that the on"y choice "eft

for me was entering 4%- chi"dren in 2"ementary and having a

tutee. then 7gured it that what was doing was not "et a"one to

avoid the suering torture of the 4%- training! not to avoid the

community service of the -)%S but to teach and he"p chi"dren

"earn more. t was not mere"y teaching and p"aying with the

chi"dren but somehow was given the opportunity to he"p the

future of the chi"dren! the future of their chi"dren! the future of

their region! the future of my country. By sharing my #now"edge

’ve made a dierence that wi"" catapu"t them to S=--2SS. A

    sma"" ounce of :2$@ can ma#e great -:A(&2S. >.>which don’t

want to! no oense to the 4%- cadets. %he reason was that

4%- training is "i#e a torture for me and that just imagining me

standing there at the S= Ba"" 7e"d be"ow the scorching heat of the

sun traumatizes my brain. was thin#ing that ’ve a"ready suered

from my high schoo" -A%! so! shou"d not be again in this 4%-.

But! was not rea""y convinced that can no "onger be an $%S

cadet* was 7""ed with eagerness to convince a’am $"u. So!

joined the $%S "ine in the un for the 2nvironment event and got

some tic#ets re5uired for $%S cadets even though sti"" am not

one. After the program! ! together with my o"der sister and

friends +ijane and ,ayson! as#ed a’am $"u if can sti"" be an $%S

cadet. $uc#i"y! after some conversation she agreed and then at

that time was forma""y an $%S cadet.

was very happy at that point that wi"" not have to 7"" up

some 4%- forms and not to be gri""ed under the sun. was g"adthat &od answered my prayers and it was a very "uc#y day for me

    that a"most jumped in joy.

But as began my duty as an $%S cadet! joining sessions by

professiona"s then having "anded at as"og 2"ementary Schoo"

    and 7na""y at $itt"e -hi"dren of the @hi"ippines! rea"ized that

there’s more to being it! there was something more in being one

of the $%S cadets. And soon! began to e0perience what it’s "i#e to

    be a tutor teaching
