How is quality assured and enhanced in UK HEIs?
• Institutional Review is the new review process for higher education institutions in England and Northern Ireland.
University of Salford is undergoing Institutional Review in 2012/13 New review method places a greater emphasis on the Student Voice and
now includes a Lead Student Representative from the Institution and a Student Reviewer on the Review Team.
• Audit of Collaborative Provision looks at how institutions with degree awarding powers maintain the standards of their awards delivered at other colleges or organisations.
• Integrated quality and enhancement review (IQER) is the review method for higher education delivered in further education colleges.

• Funding bodies, e.g. Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) now Research Excellence Framework (REF).
