What is “Conformance Test”?
Determine to what extent a product implemented based on a particular
standard conforms to the individual requirements of the standard.

Defining Conformance
Specific set of tests performed:
According to standards
By an approved test lab (could be manufacturer’s own)
On an approved test platform
Only devices that pass the tests can be released into the market
All other types of tests are called pre-conformance or D&V

PTCRB Organization
• PTCRB (PCS Type Certification Review Board) framework for GSM,
UMTS and LTE UE certification services for North American operators.
• The PVG (PTCRB Validation Group) is a group of test laboratory
organizations working in the field of PTCRB associated technologies.
PVG works on open PTCRB RfTs (Request for Testing) and the validation
of Test Platforms and Test Cases for the relevant PTCRB operating
frequencies.
