Read each symptom and cure then write the name of the ailment or sensory defect
associated with it.
AILMENT/DEFECT SYMPTOMS PREVENTION OR CURE
The eye is red and swollen. It is also
itchy and painful.
Avoid rubbing the eyes. Use
warm water for washing the
eyes and soft cloth for drying
them.
The ears cannot hear any sound at
all.
Avoid listening to very loud
sounds.
The eyelid has a boil that makes it
swell and become reddish.
Apply hot compress over the
eye
Severe pain in the ear that comes
with fever, ringing in the ear, or even
deafness.
Visit an ear doctor for
immediate treatment. An
adult should clean the ear
using cotton swabs.
The mucous membrane of the nose
becomes inflamed or swollen. It is
difficult to smell and breathe.
Drink a lot of liquids. Eat fruits
rich in vitamin C. Rest in bed.
Caused by weakening of the muscles
that move the eye.
Seeing an eye doctor as
early as possible.
Inflammation of tongue due to the
lack of vitamins.
Eat healthy food rich in
vitamins to nourish the body.
The blood vessels in the nose are
broken because of a viral infection,
high fever, or blowing hard.
Pinching the lower part of
the nostrils and staying in the
same position until bleeding
stops.
Caused by tiny organisms called
fungi. It starts as a flat reddish spot
on the skin which becomes itchy as it
spreads making it look like a ring.
The juice of Acapulco, sulasi,
or balanoy leaves may be
applied.
Caused by itch mites that lay eggs
on the skin.
The juice of makabuhay,
kakawate, or malunggay
leaves may be applied.
Caused by some defects in the cells
of the retina. Cannot distinguish the
difference between colors.
Cannot be corrected.
Small reddish areas on the tongue
that can be caused by virus,
bacteria, or fungi.
Special drops can be
applied on the affected
area.
Contagious round growths on the skin
caused by a virus. They are usually
brown and have a rough surface.
Freezing them in liquid
nitrogen or removing with an
electric needle.
The result of having a short eyeball or
faulty lens. Wearing special eyeglasses.
A skin infection that causes pus to
develop. The affected part
becomes swollen and painful.
Hot compress can be used
every hour to lessen the pain.
Ichtyol belladonna is also
effective.
