More Than Just A Retrofit Downlight...
For over a decade, LumenOptix solutions have been the standard for easy to install,
specification-grade luminaires whenever a lighting upgrade takes place within an
existing facility.
LumenOptix has applied that methodology to the LRD series, a specification-grade
LED downlight retrofit. Our patent pending, tool-less installation ensures no alterations
to the existing infrastructure and installs in minutes, all from beneath the ceiling. With
multiple size options, lumen packages, optical distributions, and the ability to accom-
modate existing dimming systems, the LRD is the perfect solution for any facility look-
ing to upgrade and improve the integrity of the original lighting design.

Installation Process
The patent pending LumenOptix LRD 5-step, tool-less installation is quick and easy. Upgrade any existing commercial, institutional or retail downlight, no matter the make or model to LED without any alterations to the existing ceiling.

1 Remove and Discard Simply remove and discard the existing reflector and lamp.
2 Tether and Connect Tether the LRD to the existing frame to make wiring as easy as possible. Then connect the existing power to the LRD (no need to pull additional wiring).
3 Slide and Position Slide the housing into the existing rough-in kit and position the LRD driver into the appropriate location.
4 Move and Tighten Move the thumb screws from the up position to the down and tighten them against the existing rough-in kit, creating a secure, leak-free fit.
5 Snap In and Complete Snap in the LRD reflector and the installation is complete.

Specification-Grade OpticsThe LumenOptix LRD’s performance is defined by its specification-grade optics. Each reflector is designed around the module, creating various beam distributions while minimizing glare. As a result, the integrity of the original lighting design is maintained or improved. In addition, LumenOptix offers various finishes (specular, semi-specular, and diffused) and multiple color options to ensure the correct specification for every application, every time. Aperture Sizes The LRD product family can upgrade existing downlights to LED from 6.5” to 15” in commercial and institutional facilities. We offer 6”, 7”, 8” and 10“ standard size housings with various size extended trim rings (goof rings), to ensure a perfect fit every time. The chart below outlines what LRD housing to specify based on the size of the existing downlight.

Control Compatibility Many LED drivers are designed to be compatible with 0-10V control systems. However, when you encounter an older phase cut dimming system, not every LED luminaire will work. Some LEDs have a delay, flicker, or simply don’t work at all.
With LumenOptix’ extensive dimming knowledge and open architecture on modules and drivers, we are able to select the compatible module and driver for the current control system. This is crucial in market segments such as auditoriums, churches and theaters which commonly utilize phase dimming, 0-10V or Lutron® control systems.
By utilizing the LumenOptix LRD, the majority of facilities can upgrade to LED without changing their control system and still have smooth, even dimming.
