Transcript of LPSO Public Safety Complex · that have been graciously donated to the Lafayette Con-solidated...
While driving past the Public Safety Complex, you
may notice that most of the construction equipment and
crews are nowhere to be found.
Crews are now focused on completing the inside
of each building completing tasks such as installing
sheetrock, flooring, and fixtures.
What you will see outside are the beautiful trees
that have been graciously donated to the Lafayette Con-
solidated Government by the Apache Corporation. LCG’s
Cecilia Gayle designed the landscaping plan for the Public
Safety Complex that will beautify the property with full
fruit and flowering trees.

ing’s progress.

Letter From the Director
This month marked a major milestone
for Corrections with digital requests going live
on the Telmate system. With the help of many
Corrections departments along with the Transi-
tion Team and Telmate, we were able to
implement 36 different digital request
forms within the Telmate system. As with
any new system, it is not without small
snags and issues, that we are working to
address. I would like to thank everyone for
their participation, patience, and help
during this transition. We will continue to
make small changes to increase function-
ality and efficiency for staff and offenders.
If anyone has any suggestions or issues,
please email Jeremy Lantier 24/7 technical
support is also available for staff by emailing
Telmate Support or by calling 800-205-5510.
The close of November brought with it the completion of all Task Manuals for LAPCORR Industries. In
the coming month, the Document Development Specialist will focus on task manual creation for the Transi-
tional Work Program. Once all Task Manuals for the Public Safety Complex have been created, reviewed,
and finalized, the documents will be used to train all staff posted
at the new facility. Document DevelopmentDocument Development
The time has come to begin scheduling and preparing the curriculum for
the training before move-in. This month, the training specialist met with staff in
various areas and began to address additional training needs before move-in. Because we want a smooth
transition into the new facility, the training specialist has been designing simulated move-in day training. Any
moving that will involve moving offenders from a current housing location to one at the PSC will have been
rehearsed and structured to assure that the offenders are introduced to their new environment in the safest,
most efficient way possible.

Transition Team Update
As you drive by the PSC you can see the
beginning of the end for the General and Sub-
Contractors. An extensive “do it yourself” project is
scheduled to begin. Trees were planted in the
parking area. We are grateful for LCG’s Cecilia
Gayle, Doug Judice, and Jon Fremin for giving life
to the landscaping plan designed by Ms. Gayle.
Schedule a tour today and you will be able
to imagine yourself training in one of the brand
new classrooms, working out in the staff fitness cen-
ter and even showering after your work out. As you
continue the tour, you can visualize the open living
area in the housing units. You see yourself working
at one of the five raised work stations within the
complex. Stand in the control room and enjoy the
beautiful view of the seven oak trees surrounding
the public park. Walk the secure canopy and no-
tice how nice the complex is and how great it will
be to work here.

This month consisted of re-inspecting areas to guarantee items will fit according to the design. Walk-
throughs occurred with different vendors while they visualized and determined accuracy according to draw-
ings and layouts. Our FF&E specialist, along with the Transition Team, have been viewing and selecting sam-
ple items created by vendors. Our FF&E specialist also drafted and submitted a request for proposal for a
Pay Laundry. Soon, the purchasing phase will begin for
items to be used at the PSC. Furniture, Fixtures & EquipmentFurniture, Fixtures & Equipment
