Dear LPA staff, students and families: I cannot believe that it is November already! I hope that you have all had a successful first quarter and are now looking forward to spending some quality holiday time with your loved ones. I just want to take this opportunity to, once again, thank everyone for all of your support. Through your efforts, we are able to be an integral part in assuring that our children receive the best possible education, even in this time of budget cuts. Here are just some examples of how the money earned during the 2010-2011 school year was spent. In addition to providing approximately $7,000 to the Media Center and $2,000 to the AR Rewards program last year, we were able to provide $5,000 worth of grants to teachers for necessary classroom items as well as $2,000 to the clinic for much-needed supplies. We were also able to provide the following for a total of $70,999: This year we plan to continue to help in the expansion of our Media Center with over $16,000 in funds, and our teachers will receive approximately $7,000 in grants. We are also excited to designate any funds raised by money received from Boxtops to be used to purchase shade for the outside eating area, which can be enjoyed by ALL students! Finally, we will continue to support many other areas of development with funds raised throughout the year including, but not limited to, technology, instructional resources, and professional development. None of this could be achieved without the incredible support of our LPA family. Thank you for all that you do to help give our children the best educational experience possible! LPA-PTO NEWSLETTER NOV 2011

MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the Liberty Pines Academy Parent

Teacher Organization is to enrich and support our students, their families, and our staff both

academically and socially, building strong community spirit along the way.

The 4th annual gala - Oktoberfest – was held on

Saturday, October 1st at St. Johns Golf & Country Club.

Thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, parents,

teachers, staff and community members, the event far

exceeded our goals and brought in nearly $29,000 for the

school.

The silent auction was bursting with creative class

baskets put together by the amazing parents and teachers

at LPA. There was everything from a safety basket,

including a complimentary security system, to a house

cleaning basket, to Gator and FSU baskets with game

tickets! The live auction, hosted by guest auctioneer Brent

Martineau, was a hit. There was something for everyone,

like a Serenata Beach Club Membership, a week's stay at

at the beach or in the mountains, and golf foursomes at 6

local golf clubs.

The bidding was fast and furious and the winners

were not only the top bidders, but the students at LPA.

The evening was rounded out with a glow-in-the-dark-

closest-to-the-pin contest and a super Live Performance by

Seize the Day!

Thank you again to our sponsors: SpaMe, Watson

Realty - Lisa Menton, St. Johns Golf & Country Club, St.

Johns Eye Associates, Orthopaedic Associates of St.

Augustine, Taps Bar and Grill, First Florida Credit Union,

Magellan Transport Logistics, Publix, Winn-Dixie, and

Atlantic Coast Bank.

RREEDD RRIIBBBBOONN WWEEEEKK

Red Ribbon Week was a huge success! Thank you to all of the staff for working with our children to emphasize the importance of this week. Among many other things during Red Ribbon Week, our children were asked to sign a "brick," pledging their intent to make good choices, be a supportive friend, and be drug and alcohol free. With these pledges, we built a solid "bridge of support" connecting the letters of our theme for the week - I've Got the Power. The students and staff enjoyed watching the progress of the bridge throughout the week and, of course, seeing the final product. Stop by and take a look and thank you for all of your support during this empowering week!

NIGHT OF THE ARTS Thank you to everyone who came to the 4th Annual

Night of the Arts! It was a fun-filled, family evening

with entertainment from Orf, Drama and Chorus, as

well as the opportunity to visit the Scholastic Book

Fair and see our children's artwork on display. We are

so proud of all of our students at LPA! Thank you for

sharing your talents with us! We would also like to

thank Publix for providing the food for this event, as

well as all of our business partners who helped to

make this night a success: St. Johns Eye Associates,

St. Johns Learning Center, Atlantic Coast Bank, RPM,

First Coast Chiropractic, and The Party Company.

Thank you for your support of LPA!

Are you looking for a fun and easy way to give back to Liberty Pines Academy?
