Dear Families, Welcome to the final edition of our newsletter for the year. This year has been very eventful, with many changes and challenges, successes and celebrations. Through the entire year, there is one thing that has not changed, and that is the ability of our school community to “Love One Another”. We are extremely proud of the achievements of our school community throughout the year, and acknowledge the ongoing support from the School Board, the Parents and Friends Association and the entire Sacred Heart community. Thank you. We are still in the process of finalising our classes for 2017 and we will be working on this on Friday. We will send letters toward the end of January advising of teachers for 2017. At the end of each year, it is sad to say farewell to some of our staff. This year we say farewell to: Catherine Owen, Rachel Sinon, Antoinette Erasmus, Jonathan Paul, Sally Cameron, Caddie Palmer, Stephanie Redgment and Lisa Bound. We wish all of our staff and families who are leaving all the best and thank them for spending time in our Sacred Heart community. Year 6 Leaders in 2017 We congratulate our school captains for 2017, Paige Canavan and Liam Wells. Joining the Captains to form the SRC in 2017 will be Taylah Gardiner, Charlee Whiteman, Mia Cinquina, PJ Stalas, Tyler Dyson and Aidan Da Costa-Pereira. Our Sports Captains for 2017: Gsell: Gemma Kutija and Kenny Lopes O’Loughlin: Ava Greay and Oscar Russell Collins: Aaliyah Lew Fatt and Joaquin Tulloch Hurley: Destini Evans and Sibisik Misob We congratulate these students, as well as all of our Year 6 students for 2017 as they embark on their leadership within the school. As advertised in this newsletter, the school office will be open next week and will then re-open on January 16th 2017. Uniforms will be available from the Office during these times. The Back to School vouchers will be available for use from January 16th. This is all co-ordinated through our school office. Finally, we thank you all for your support and involvement with Sacred Heart this year. We are a strong community, built on faith and love, and we acknowledge the many different parts of our community that work together to make our school a great place. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and look forward to working with you again in 2017.

May you be filled with Christ’s blessings this Christmas.

Congratulation to Miss Elsie Lasker for her recent performance at the Darwin Entertainment Centre with the Palmerston Ballet School. There were two productions on the night, ‘The Brolga and the Star’ and ‘La Boutique Fantasque’. They performed beautifully (after much hard work!) and Elsie really enjoyed it! In 2017 we would love to hear about all our students extra curricular activity successes and share it in the HeartBeat Newsletter. Please forward photos and information to [email protected]
