The mission of Love INC is to mobilize local churches to transform land communities In the Name of Christ

Last Spring a family of 4 including a sick young daughterwas rescued off the Mexican coast from a disabled boatby 3 Federal agencies a 1047297xed wing Aircraft US Navy war-ship and scores of personnel the price tag for this rescue$633000 This is the distance rescuers will go to save losthikers injured mountain climbers and stranded mariners

The mission of Love INC is a similar rescue operation weseek to mobilize local churches to transform lives andcommunities In the Name of Christ Volunteers frompartner churches go to great lengths to serve neighborsin need providing baby items and furniture for an immi-grating family or by investing in the education of a youngwoman enrolled in the Pathways to Hope program

The Church united is a powerful witness to a world full ofbroken relationships we are willing participants in thismission as fellow recipients of Godrsquos grace in Jesus Christ

There is much work to be done requestcleaning supplies 1047297rewood and blankets round and the church answers the call comes for these tangible items we 1047297ll themto give more we want to send rescuers to simply to bring a supply of water and foodthe family into a safe place to surround tcare that will make a lasting difference

We met Sally through the Pathways to Hope ldquoImagerdquo classhosted at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church A sweet humblewoman who walks by faith in Jesus Christ has an incrediblythankful heart It has been one year since she was treated forcancer and is working hard to get on her feet She cares for herelderly father while working as a caregiver and has just com-pleted her LPN training When we met her she had raised $120of the $460 needed to pay for the exam and fees

Sally works 20-26 hours and asks for more hours but rarelygets more than 30 hours She earns $20 per hour and travelsto different locations for work carefully balancing the cost ofgas with opportunities to work When her dad is able he givesher gas money out of his small social security income She istrying very hard to keep her car and insurance so she activelylooks for ways to earn and save where she can Recently whenshe needed some medication friends donated food to herwith which she made tamales and sold them to neighbors andfriends

Through the Love INC Hope Fund and Lake Grove PresbyterianChurch we were able to support Sally with the investment in

her future to pay the remaining fees for her license We arecon1047297dent that Sally will be a 1047298ourishing member of our com-munity as she continues to walk in faith and joy

All this is from God who through Christ to himself and gave us the ministry of rethat is in Christ God was reconciling the self not counting their trespasses againentrusting to us the message of reconcilfore we are ambassadors for Christ Goappeal through us

Anna contacted us via email in late February asking for helpwith housing She her husband and young daughter hademigrated to the US 6 months earlier from Kenya and werenow being asked by their sponsoring family to move out ofthe one bedroom they had been renting Although her hus-band had recently secured a job they had yet to 1047297nd afford-able housing and were soon to deliver their second child

While Love INC does not have 1047297nancial resources to assistwith housing we can meet tangible needs that in turn freeup money needed for housing deposits and rent Our GapMinistries were able to provide baby gear a layette non-foodpantry items household items and furniture to Anna and herfamily and they were most appreciative of everything theyreceived A recent email from Anna included these wordsldquoI want to sincerely thank the entire family of Love INC for the

support they gave us when we thought we were at the end Ourlives completely changed such that self esteem and self worth ismaking sense in our lives at this moment We look around ourhome and see the things you gave us and we equate it as be-ing surrounded by your love and we cannot stop giving gloryand thanking the Lord for your big heart Your prayers too have

played a tremendous role and we can only sing of Godrsquos great-

Did you know that the needs of our callers volunteersand local churches are prayed over each day as our Clear-inghouse Volunteers prepare to answer the phones Wehave seen God work in incredible ways as we get out ofthe way and invite His Spirit to intervene Our volunteerspray over the phone for any caller who wishes prayer and

their requests are written down so that the volunteerteam can continue to pray about their needs throughoutthe week These requests are compiled by yet anothervolunteer who sends out a weekly e-mail to our extendedLove INC family for another layer of prayer covering Ifyou would like to be added to the Prayer Warrior list elec-tronically or through ldquosnail mailrdquo please call the offi ce at(503) 656-4223 ext 2
