Page 4: Love, Deaf and the Bible

There are two kinds of Love.

FIRST: Love of GOD!!! – Also called

“AGAPE” (Greek word), or God’s love to us.

Remember John 3:16?“For GOD so LOVE the world,

that HE gave HIS Only Son (Jesus)….

SECOND: Love of other person!!! – Also called “PHILEO” (another Greek word), which means brotherly or

sisterly love.It is also called “neighbor love”.

Bible says:Love your neighbor as yourself.

Mark 12:31

But the Bible says…

… LOVE your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.

For God gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and on the unjust, too. If you love only those who love you, what good is that?

Matthew 5: 43-48

Page 11: Love, Deaf and the Bible

What about LOVE to your own body and own life?

God says you must take care of your body.

“You shall love your neighbor the same as you are to love yourself.”

- Matthew 22:39

Wait…. What does the Bible (Apostle Paul) say?

But I say to the unmarried: It is good for them if they remain single; but if they CANNOT CONTROL THEMSELVES, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.”

1 Corinthians 7:8-9

Page 24: Love, Deaf and the Bible

Paul also said…

If you believe and love God, then you must obey Him.

I cannot force you to accept

and do what I say.

But if you obey God, here is what He promised….

Page 27: Love, Deaf and the Bible

“Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. Judge not, and you

will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the

measure you give will be the measure you get back.”

Luke 6:36-38
