“Losing my leg was blessing in disguise”

An inspiring story of para-cyclist Aditya Mehta knee amputee from Hyderabad

Aditya is the first Indian to secure two silver medals at the para-Asian cycling championship

For someone who had never played sport at any level, Aditya Mehta started cycling after a road accident

To raise funds for athletes with disabilities, he completed cycled a journey of 1,450 kms from Delhi to Mumbai without his prosthetic leg

Mehta has set up a Foundation to support other para-athletes

Holder of four feats in the Limca Book of Records, Aditya says, “My aim is for para-athletes to get recognition for what they do. If you see the recent trend, able-bodied athletes in the country aren't doing half as well as we are. Yet, we get little support from the government”.
