2. SEASIDE SERIES: The Dodgers tonight look to snap their three-
game losing streak when they play the first of three contests against
the San Diego Padres at PETCO Park. Following the weekend series,
Los Angeles will return to Dodger Stadium for a six-game homestand
next week against the Giants (3) and Diamondbacks (3).
The Dodgers are currently tied with the Padres for first place
in the National League West, 0.5 games ahead of the
Colorado Rockies.
The Dodgers today will look to avoid their first four-game
losing streak since dropping four consecutive games from
Sept. 13-16, 2013 against the Giants (3) and D-backs (1).
The Dodgers took two of three from the Padres in the
season’s opening series at Dodger Stadium. Last year, Los
Angeles was 12-7 against San Diego.
KEPT IT GOING: Yesterday, Dodger infielder Alex Guerrero got
the start at third base and ripped his fourth homer of the season,
finishing the game 2-for-3. Guerrero’s three pinch hits (two homers
and a double) are tied for the Major League lead as are his two homers
(Tampa Bay’s Tim Beckham). The native of Cuba’s five RBI off the
bench lead the Majors. Overall, Guerrero is hitting .474 (9-for-19)
with four homers, 12 RBI (T-8th, NL) and a 1.211 slugging percentage.
LOAD UP: The Dodgers’ 17 extra-base hits in their season-opening
series against the Padres were their second most in a three-game home
series since 2005 and their most in any three-game series vs. San
Diego all-time:

BACK AND FORTH THEY GO: Prior to tonight’s game, the
Dodgers today selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Sergio
