Lord, teach us to pray.
WELCOME
Tammy Estep, District Superintendent
Mikang Kim, Host Pastor
One: O God, we want everything to be for your Glory.
Many: We want our thoughts, our words, our songs,
One: our church, our community, our resources
Many: our time, our business, our prayer
One: our breath, our very lives:
Many: everything to be for you and to bring you honor, glory and praise.
One: Everything that is ours is yours,
Many: and we come together to declare this to be so.
One: Let your Holy Spirit hover here and bless this time of worship, prayer, and praise.
Many: Amen.

Friends on earth and friends above, for all gentle thoughts and mild;

6. For thyself, best Gift Divine, to the world so freely given,
for that great, great love of thine, peace on earth, and joy in heaven:
Refrain
Lord of all, to thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise.
As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after you.
You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship you.
AS THE DEER TFWS #2025
You alone are my strength, my shield;
to you alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my heart’s desire,
And I long to worship you.
Lord, listen to your children praying,
Lord, send your Spirit in this place;
LORD, LISTEN TO YOUR CHILDREN PRAYING TFWS #2193
Lord, listen to your children praying,
send us love, send us power,
send us grace.
Lord, listen to your children praying,
Lord, send your Spirit in this place;
Lord, listen to your children praying,
send us love, send us power,
send us grace.
Almighty and wonderful Savior, we pray upon these your churches, on the Eastern Shore, but also for your holy church universal. We pray that all its members may dwell together in unity and love.
LET US PRAY TOGETHER
Endure your pastors with righteousness, and enable them faithfully to fulfill their ministry. Where it is corrupt, purify it, where it is in error, direct it, where it is right, establish it, where it is in want, provide for it, where it is divided, reunite it.
Sanctify its life, renew its worship, empower its witness, remove from your people all pride and every prejudice that dulls their will for unity…We pray in the name of him who died and rose again, and ever lives to make intersession for us. Amen.

Psalm 25: 1-10 UMH #756-757
Lead me, Lord, lead me in thy righteousness;
make thy way plain before my face.
To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
O my God, in you I trust,
Let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me
Let none that wait for you be put to shame;
let them be ashamed who are clothed with treachery.
Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God fo my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.
Lead me, Lord, lead me in thy righteousness;
make thy way plain before my face.
Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love, for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth, or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord.
Good and upright is the Lord; therefore the Lord instructs sinners in the way, and leads the humble in what is right, and teaches them their way.
All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep the Lord’s covenant and testimonies.
Lead me, Lord, lead me in thy righteousness;
make thy way plain before my face.
SCRIPTURE LESSON
Paul Bowers, District Associate Lay Leader
Iris Smith, District Lay Leader
7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I
have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because
if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
JEREMIAH 29:7, 11-14A
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
1One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” 2He said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3Give us each day our daily bread. 4Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.”
LUKE 11: 1-13
5Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.
9“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
11“Which of you fathers, if your son asks forf a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

INVITATION REV. BRENDA LAWS, DEACON IN FULL CONNECTION
Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart.
We have failed to be an obedient church.
We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love,
CONFESSION AND PARDON
we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy.
Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our lord. Amen
Leader to people : Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
People to leader: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
Leader and people: Glory to God. Amen
Leader: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
Leader: Lift up your hearts.

People: It is right to give our thanks and praise.
THE GREAT THANKSGIVING
Leader: …And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
People: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest!
Leader: ….And so, In remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.
People: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.
Leader: …through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy church, all honor and glory is yours, almighty God, now and forever.
People: Amen.
WORD AND TABLE: SERVICE III, UMH
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Inspire our ways of learning through earnest, fervent prayer,
And let our daily living reveal thee everywhere.
GO MAKE OF ALL DISCIPLES UMH #571

We cultivate the nature God plants in every heart, revealing in our witness the master teacher’s art.
