Mapping out the next 12 months of tablet products shows RF’s unique strengths: analytics & forecastingRefer to https://www.recordedfuture.com/rf/s/5nZSGe
We were able to extract the following talking points pertaining to the near future of the tablet market:
• New market entries from Google, Microsoft & LG
• Companies like Qualcomm and Intel are pivoting around mobile
• Forecasts of Android tablets outselling iPad by end of 2012
• Enterprise adoption of tablets is expected to grow substantially and drive segmentation of the market.
The iPhone 5 was actually delayed due to… CPU Overheating while Apple will face stiff completion from an iPhone Amazon Phone in the fall
of 2012
Often, information about the future is revealed in the past and present, but not noticed or acted on till later.
RF categorizes news stories by location, region, broad topics and channel – which helps when creating a readout or talking points related to predictions.
Sysomos - iPhone delays, overheating & Amazon Threats
Social Listening platforms like Sysomos and Radian6 are very good and collecting stories and condensing them in a smaller collection, fail to provide tactical readouts, because they were mainly designed for “exploratory investigation” and story collection.
The RF temporal timeline is unique – the closest analogy is Google Trends and Google Insights for search, that do employ some predictive analysis, but only for traffic volume, not events.
Kindle Fire AND iPad
The RF temporal timeline is unique – the closest analogy is Google Trends and Google Insights for search, that do employ some predictive analysis, but only for traffic volume, not events.
Google’s interface is good for predicting future traffic, but does not attempt to forecast what events may happen.

RF Tablet Technology Influencers
Recorded Future maps out the influencers of various types and shows where and how they are connected.
While MPact does a good job picking journalists who are engaged with a subject …..
MPact is not a predictive tool and can not uncover hidden patterns.
KLOUT has topic analysis and ranking, but is not a predictive tool and is not able to pick up much about many subjects due
to a lack of granularity
Klout is unable to scale to cover the subjects people most want to know about
Mobile and Tablets - Next three years Huge market segments still emerging
• Over 75% of businesses plan on deploying tablets by 2013• Revolutionizing health care delivery, on-site and mobile • Disrupting software engineering and user expectations
Radian6 / Salesforce is a powerful monitoring platform but is, perhaps, the most exploratory tool of the set, unable to provide anything tactical for a readout.
Summary• Tools shape the data we can pull from them, some are better for
one purpose, and worse for others.
• Many tools are good at collecting data, but they can’t tell you what is important they are unable to track patterns and isolate unusual events.
• Perhaps the only temporal platform that I know of, specifically designed to isolate and forecast possible future events, is Recorded Future.
• Recorded Future is the right platform for forecasting and futures analysis and predictions on a variety of subjects, to learn more contact RECORDEDFUTURE.COM
