LoneStar Evolution Friday Skills Training

1st – 6th Grades / New to Limited Experience

This training provides options specifically for recreational and competitive athletes 1st through 6th grades. Choose the skill you wish to focus on for each clinic session (one skill per clinic). Walk up and pay at the door, cash or check only. No pre-registration required!

Serving Training - Athletes will receive instruction on the simple movement of serving so that they can easily repeat the serving skill / movement. Focus is on pre-serve routine and ritual and learning to serve at targets. Athletes will receive feedback on serving results and correction to improve serving mechanics. Hitting Training - Athletes will receive instruction on body mechanics for hitting, including arm swing, footwork and body position. Athletes will receive feedback on hitting results and correction to improve hitting mechanics.

Fee: $15 per athlete/per clinic -- Pre-registration reserves your spot! Walk ups accepted with space available. New to Limited Experienced Athletes ● Professional Coaches, group training

Academy 1st – 8th Grades / New to Limited Experience LoneStar Volleyball Academy is designed to train athletes who are new to volleyball, have limited experience or have not had formal training. With professional coaches leading the way, junior athletes receive a strong foundation of technical mechanics and tactical skills.

Academy II 10U – 18U / Intermediate Experience

Academy II training focuses on setting, attacking, serving, passing and defense. There will be emphasis on using those foundation skills to develop court IQ for specific positions, offensive systems, and defensive systems. Approval is required to register for Academy II to ensure that the athlete has the appropriate knowledge of volleyball mechanics. Expanded Skills Training Camp Rec 4th – 6th Grades / Competitive-Select 10U-15U / Club 10U-18U

Separate classes for Beginner's to Club athletes. This training provides options specifically for elite level, club athletes as well as recreational and competitive and select athletes. For Beginner's to Limited Experience, the Volley Camp will provide an opportunity for athletes to train with the LoneStar professional coaches on skill mechanics through skill based drills and games. Athletes will be grouped by appropriate accommodations; net height and ball size. The camp will also provide opportunities to enhance volleyball IQ and increase volleyball game comfort through small group games and multiple touch drills. Registration required.

● Athletes are not assigned to teams based on practice preference nor are they moved from team to team to accommodate practice preference.

● No jewelry allowed on the courts at any time unless medically necessary.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be submitted by email prior to the close of regular registration. A $35 administrative fee is non-refundable.

LONESTAR BEACH CLUB is a new junior’s beach volleyball Training and Tournament program in the North Texas Region based at the beautiful new beach courts at Little Elm Park in Little Elm, TX. We offer training to any junior athlete, both girls & boys age 10 to 18 years old that wish to learn how to play doubles sand volleyball as well as Adult tournaments. The program is run by LoneStar Beach Club staff professionals who have a proven track record in training junior athletes in sand volleyball. LoneStar Beach Club offers many opportunities to learn and play sand volleyball and our goal is to help train the junior athlete in this fun and emerging sport. Sand volleyball is excellent for training volleyball fundamentals and strategy to junior players! BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL THESE THINGS WE HEAR ABOUT PLAYING SAND VOLLEYBALL FROM INDOOR COACHES???? Q #1: Does sand volleyball mess up indoor “timing” for attacking? A. If moving FASTER and jumping HIGHER is a problem, then those are two great problems to have! Sand generates NO FORCE so all energy and force required to move and jump is generated by the player. The positive effects of this is seen when the player moves back indoors and they adapt very quickly to the SLOWER indoor game while having an opportunity to showcase their new enhanced volleyball skills & ball control. Q #2: Do I need to be a good indoor volleyball player to play sand volleyball? A. NO! Anyone willing to learn sand volleyball is WELCOME to train in our program. We have many levels of commitment to match your interest and we train the beginner to the advanced player including all Indoor Club, School & other volleyball players. Tell your friends! Q #3: Is playing “doubles” harder than playing indoor sixes? A. It’s up to you to decide! But you may find at the end of beach volleyball training that two players is enough to cover the court and six seem like too many! We teach both sand volleyball skills and doubles theory so you will always be ready to play doubles anytime, anywhere, and against anybody. Program Levels: Every player will attend tryouts and then assigned to either a Beach Club or a Beach Club Elite team.

Beach Club program offers a club-like experience focused on doubles beach volleyball. The inaugural program will feature qualified and experienced coaching staff that have years of professional playing and coaching backgrounds along with structured practices, inter-program competition, and instruction on the theories and strategies of doubles beach volleyball. Beach Club is tailored to beginner level athletes who have played indoor or

school volleyball, but have not played or have been professionally coached in

beach volleyball. A Beach Club player can move to the Beach Club Elite program

once the player exhibits a high level of skill and beach volleyball performance.

Additional fees will apply with any move between programs.

LoneStar Beach Club Elite ● Monthly (one month – May, June or July) $300 ● Summer (three months – May – July) $750 ● Practices: Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30p – 7:30p

Beach Club Elite program offers a club-like experience and a more intense and advanced training environment that will not only focus on beach volleyball skill basics but on the key techniques and partnership interaction needed to play doubles at a high level. The inaugural program will feature qualified and experienced coaching staff that have years of professional playing and coaching backgrounds along with structured practices with the doubles team, inter-program competition, and a higher level of beach doubles theory and partnership interaction. Beach Club Elite is tailored to advanced level athletes who have played indoor or school volleyball at an elite/varsity level and have also played in junior beach volleyball tournaments or have been coached in the past at a junior’s beach volleyball program. Beach Club Elite players are partnered by the LoneStar coaching staff early in the program and tend to train with their partner.
