A Sentence Acrosticof the
Cook Family Travels
Long ago, Shakespeare’s plays were performed in
the Globe; this re-creation is spot-on.
On the River Thames is Big Ben & Parliament.
Never step past the yellow line when waiting on the tube, and always “Mind the
Gap.”
Days and evenings are busy at Piccadilly Circus
Over the pond, they take their cigarette warnings seriously.
Never had we seen a sight like the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace.
Eskimo Joe’s may be the “Smile seen ‘round the world”; it was on the Thames walk near the London
Eye.
Now we were allowed to touch the art like this lion at an open-air market in Camden.
Going on a trip, it’s fun to make new friends, especially when they’re the pilots of the plane
Like other families in London, we enjoyed playing at the many parks.
Allé, Allé-Allé-Allé! Come on England!! Football (American soccer) is an important
pastime.
No matter how far from home, there are things that will remind us where we are from.
Do you dare to eat English food? This is bangers (sausages) and mash (potatoes) .
LONDON, ENGLAND
was the first of our European trips, and through it we learned a lot about another culture, another country, and each other.
