INTRODUCTION: Logic and Music Concepts:

(Basic and not so basic Logic tools, fun guaranteed!) - Discussing Music: Why do you like this sound? Where and How do you think it has ben produced that way? (all explained below) - The tools of Logic (I): Composing - The tools of Logic (II): Editing - Applied Techniques of Logic - MIDI Sequencing in Logic - MIDI Editing in Logic - The Sound Palette: Color coding and Track Organization. - Using Techniques in a Song: Concepts of Production Goal: Understand why we use those buttons and the difference in sound, having an organized rack and instrumentation. * Assignments and Quiz will be provided* 2) Tracking and Sampling in Logic: (In here you will have access to the industry latest editing and tricks! - Midi Creation and Multi Track Setup - Setting up a "Template" for multiple music genres - Recording in Logic - Linking Logic to Protools (Industry Interchange for better quality songs, all worked in Logic DAW) - Choosing your libraries (Industry best libraries to use) - Creating a "Temp Track" (extremely useful assignment to understand better the concept of editing and tweaking music precisely) - Multi-Track Editing and composing with Logic-Protools connection (this is signal flow in Logic) Goal: Recreate and compose songs in the best quality. * Assignments and Quiz will be provided*

3) Advanced Techniques of Logic: (Real-life experience of working fully in Logic) - Plugins - Automation - Buses and Signal Routing - Bouncing - Exporting Audio (Delivery STEMS) -Exporting in QT. Goal: grasping the harder part of Logic, the technical part and being fully independent as a producer and composer. Once this is practiced, student will achieve a smooth practice and easier work when creating music in such a tedious DAW. * Assignments and Quiz will be provided* 4) Projects and Assignments: Dates provided in class. - Composing a song in Logic - Editing a track in Logic - Mixing the track in Logic - Creating bigger instrumentation track in Logic (Each instrument has different mixing needs!) -Temp Track Project -Scoring Project -Recording Project (Al of these cover the practical needs to work in Logic) Goal: Being able to fully be a producer and composer in the Industry's level of quality and flexibility.

5 Music Business Concepts: Licensing and Dangers: (Advice from experience working in the heart of the music industry. - Logic's loops licenses. - Contracts: Protect your music. - Advice on platforms and how to pitch up! - A fast pace: Multi task! - A correct attitude towards the tempest: handling tricky clients and dangers. Goal: Realize and see this is a maze! Watch out for scams, people/companies to avoid, get the tricks to not get tricked!

Grading Criteria: A- Excellent! B- Good! C- Need to Improve D- (We will review tricky and harder works) Project grades are based on quality of the following: - Composition and musical support of picture - Tempo- Mapping and sync to picture - Production - Dynamics - Mix - Sound palette decisions
