    The EMS Administrators’ Association of California (EMSAAC) continues to lead the way in preparing EMS professionals for the sea change that lies ahead.     Keynote Speakers

    Bryan Bledsoe, DO, FACEP is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the George Washing-ton University Medical Center in Washington, DC, emergency physician and EMS author. He has over 35 years of experience in emergency medical services and emergency medicine. He entered EMS in 1974 as an EMT and attended one of the fi rst paramedic programs in north Texas. Dr. Bledsoe worked for several years in Fort Worth as a paramedic and went on to become an EMS Instructor and Coordinator prior to attending medical school. Dr. Bledsoe is board-certifi ed in emergency medicine. He is the author of numerous EMS textbooks and his writ-ings can be found in the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) where he is a regular contributor and columnist. Dr. Bledsoe has been often interviewed in national media in regard to EMS issues including The Wall

    Street Journal, New York Times, Chicago Sun Times, USA Today, Washington Post and others. He is a frequent presenter at national and international EMS conferences. He enjoys salt-water fi shing and lives in Midlothian, Texas.

    Garry Briese, is the Executive Director of the Colorado State Fire Chiefs representing Colorado’s senior fi re service leaders and is sharing his experience and knowledge pro bono with the Firefi ghter Cancer Support Net-work. He is a Principal in the professional services and consulting company, Briese and Associates LLC, and is a member of the corporate Board of Directors of WS Darley Company, an international manufacturer & distributor for the military and emergency services. He is a Senior Fellow at the Buechner Institute for Governance in the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver. Garry served for 23 years as the Executive Director of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and previously for 14 years as the Executive Director of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians. During his tenure at the FCEP he developed several nationally recognized in-

    novative educational programs, which have continued to this day, including the annual National ALS Competition, ClinCon, and the International Disaster Management Conference. His work positioned the FCEP as one of the most infl uential state emergency medicine organizations in the nation. In 2004 he received the James O. Page Award for his years of leadership, support and servic-es to the national Emergency Medical Services (EMS) community. The award is presented to an individual who has played key role in creating and/or promoting non-clinical innovation and achievements in fi re-based EMS. He has co-authored three fi rst responder textbooks, multiple book chapters and many articles in professional journals. Mr. Briese has a B.A. in International Relations and Masters in Public Administration and enjoys hiking & backpacking and is a strong intermediate downhill skier.

    Keynote Speakers

    Bryan Bledsoe, DO, FACEP is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the George Washing-ton University Medical Center in Washington, DC, emergency physician and EMS author. He has over 35 years of experience in emergency medical services and emergency medicine. He entered EMS in 1974 as an EMT and attended one of the fi rst paramedic programs in north Texas. Dr. Bledsoe worked for several years in Fort Worth as a paramedic and went on to become an EMS Instructor and Coordinator prior to attending medical school. Dr. Bledsoe is board-certifi ed in emergency medicine. He is the author of numerous EMS textbooks and his writ-ings can be found in the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) where he is a regular contributor and columnist. Dr. Bledsoe has been often interviewed in national media in regard to EMS issues including The Wall

    Street Journal, New York Times, Chicago Sun Times, USA Today, Washington Post and others. He is a frequent presenter at national and international EMS conferences. He enjoys salt-water fi shing and lives in Midlothian, Texas.

    Garry Briese, is the Executive Director of the Colorado State Fire Chiefs representing Colorado’s senior fi re service leaders and is sharing his experience and knowledge pro bono with the Firefi ghter Cancer Support Net-work. He is a Principal in the professional services and consulting company, Briese and Associates LLC, and is a member of the corporate Board of Directors of WS Darley Company, an international manufacturer & distributor for the military and emergency services. He is a Senior Fellow at the Buechner Institute for Governance in the School of Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver. Garry served for 23 years as the Executive Director of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and previously for 14 years as the Executive Director of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians. During his tenure at the FCEP he developed several nationally recognized in-

    novative educational programs, which have continued to this day, including the annual National ALS Competition, ClinCon, and the International Disaster Management Conference. His work positioned the FCEP as one of the most infl uential state emergency medicine organizations in the nation. In 2004 he received the James O. Page Award for his years of leadership, support and servic-es to the national Emergency Medical Services (EMS) community. The award is presented to an individual who has played key role in creating and/or promoting non-clinical innovation and achievements in fi re-based EMS. He has co-authored three fi rst responder textbooks, multiple book chapters and many articles in professional journals. Mr. Briese has a B.A. in International Relations and Masters in Public Administration and enjoys hiking & backpacking and is a strong intermediate downhill skier.
