The Executive Master of Energy Management
& Sustainable Development aims at training
Energy Managers, a professional figure born
in USA during the Oil crisis of 1973. In Italy,
this profession has been legally acknowledged
by law 308/82, while law 10/91 gave new
prominence to the role of Energy Manager, by
mandating a professional figure responsible
for the saving and rational use of energy in fir-
ms and industrial organizations with an energy
consumption of more than 10.000 ton per year,
and every other service business or public ad-
ministration with a consumption of more than
1.000 ton per year.
Therefore, Energy Manager is a high level
profile, which requires managerial, technical,
financial, legal, and communication skills, able
to support the organizational decision-making
process concerning energy plans and policies.
Furthermore, technological innovation in the
real estate sector and improvements in
construction techniques created the opportuni-
ties for business to offer smart living solutions
both in cities and in buildings. Beside these
new challenges, a new managerial generation

The Executive Master of Energy Management
& Development is an effective and actionable
educational path to provide – direct interac-
tion with Energy Management professionals
– skills and competences required by the la-
bor market. This master trains professionals
for successfully operating in several sectors
of green economy, according to its specialized
know-how on issues such as energy require-
ments, energy rehabilitation of buildings, and
