what effenaar can offer in eindhoven
effenaar and other locations in eindhoven
Being the fifth largest city in Holland, with over 200.000 inhabitants, Eindhoven has a very important role in the south of
the Netherlands. With a well laid out road system and rail plan it’s easily accessible for visitors from the north, Germany and
Belgium. And with Eindhoven Airport just around the corner even England, France and Spain are just a few hours away.
Eindhoven is an industrial city, which had a lot of input on the technology we all use nowadays. The light bulb, cassette tape
and the CD all came from this city for instance. And even today, Eindhoven is still one of the most inventive cities. Forbes
cited it as one of the 15th most innovative cities, with a patent taken out every twenty minutes. In 2011 the region Eindhoven/
Helmond was proclaimed the smartest community in the world. Eindhoven is in the running of becoming the Culture Capital of
2018.

Grote Zaal / Main Hall (cap. 1200)
The large hall of the Effenaar is a highly modern medium sized room with plenty of possibilities. Multiple bars, a top of the line
PA and lights, and professional backstage facilities makes this the right place for large dance nights, big rock concerts and
everything in between. Bands that played here are Queens of the Stone Age, Trentemøller and Wovenhand. Dance nights and
parties held here include We All Love 80’s and 90’s, SAW, Club MTV and many more.
Effenaar Box (cap. 600)
The main hall can also be transformed into the ‘Effenaar Box’, a room within a room so to speak. This greatly expands the scale
of concerts in this room as smaller bands can also play the main hall, but in a more intimate setting.

Kleine Zaal / Second Hall (cap. 400)
The second hall or small room really is a smaller version of the main hall, but of course with a capacity that is one third of
the main hall plus a balcony. The small room recently upgraded it’s PA making it even more suited for dance/dj nights, while
also remaining a top rank stage for all kind of live acts. Acts like James Blake, Triggerfinger and The Editors got their debut in
Eindhoven on this stage.
Effenaar tuin / Garden (cap. 1500)
The garden is located between Effenaar and the river De Dommel with lots of green, a pond and a cozy terrace. On the first of
September the festival Brandend Zand is held here with lots of different areas (food/kids/market/music).
