Local Scholarship Process 2015
Kaukauna Area School District
General Information There are about 44 scholarship sponsors in our Local
Scholarship process. Scholarship sponsors pay out scholarships according to their
own time table. Some are upon proof of registration for semester one and some are after successful completion of your first semester of college.
Additional Scholarships for KHS Seniors can be found by visiting the Community Foundation website www.cffoxvalley.org/scholarships
If you need an Official Transcript for any outside scholarships, please see Mrs. Rueden in student services and she will print one for you and add the official seal (no charge).
Recipients will be notified a few weeks prior to senior awards night in May. All recipients are expected to attend in order to receive their scholarship award(s).
Timeline-Local Scholarships Wednesday, January 28th
All Seniors planning to participate in the Local Scholarship Process are expected to attend the mandatory meeting.
Students will complete a checklist of all local scholarships they are eligible for-Checklist must be returned prior to leaving meeting-No Exceptions.
Wednesday, February 11th
All application materials are due to Mrs. Rueden in student services by 3:30pm. *Applications received after deadline will have LATE written in large letters across application. No Applications will be excepted after Friday February 13th.

Local Scholarship Application Application and Essay are available on Wednesday, January
28th on the KHS webpage. Application should be typed-12pt font Times New Roman and
not handwritten.
Scholarship Checklist Scholarship Checklist-Must be paper clipped securely in the
following order: $5.00 for copying costs and transcripts (a check written to
Kaukauna High School is ok) Release Form Personal Information Sheet-Download from KHS Website and
typed-12pt font. Scholarship Essay (If applicable) Any additional scholarship materials required by
individual sponsors. Students name should be printed on every page of application and
essay.
Local Scholarship Essay Guidelines Honor Code
All applicants will do their own writing and organizing All applicants will abide by the time expectations Applicants will report any misuses of the honor code Applicant will write and submit a “thank you” note and required
paperwork to receive scholarship money-Due before graduation
Writing Guidelines Per the honor code-you are to use no more than 5 hours to
organize and write your essay. You are to time yourself. Your essay is to be original work without assistance from others.
The essay must be on plain white paper Essays should be typed with a maximum length of two pages with
1” margins on all sides. Name must be on the upper right hand corner of both pages The essay should be neat, free of spelling and punctuation errors.
