From: Sent: 22 June 2014 19:12 To: Reviews@ Subject: Wyre Forest electoral ward proposals Dear Sir We at would like to express our disapproval of the proposed reduction of electoral wards in Wyre Forest District Council. This would see our road becoming part of the new electoral ward of Hoobrook & Foley Park should the proposed reduction of wards take place. We are currently in Aggborough & Spennells ward and very happy with the Councillors who work extremely hard on our behalf in our local area. We strongly object to any changes, and we trust that our opinions and feelings will be respectfully taken into account. Yours faithfully Christopher & Rosalind Bradbury Sent from Samsung Mobile

I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND HOW I CAN LIVE FACING SUTTON PARK ROAD AND NOT BE IN SUTTON PARK WARD. I DO NOT LIVE ON FOLEY PARK, AND DO FEEL PART OF THAT AREA. I BELONG IN SUTTON PARK WITH COUNCILLORS THAT I KNOW.

From: Ann Davey Sent: 21 June 2014 14:50 To: Reviews@ Subject: New Electoral Arrangements for Wyre Forest District Council I wish to register my objection to the proposed changes which will place my road in a new ward! As the only reason is to save the council money, removing us from an effective group of councillors seems highly undemocratic! Please think again! Ann Davey

The proposed ward Bewdley and Rock should include Arley as a whole until the A442. The proposed three councillors for ward should be reduced to two councillors (councillor and deputy). Population based councillors won't last to long. Because Kidderminster wards will increase their population very fast compared with rural area, thus your proposal won't last to long. Having a 1 million or 10.000 inhabitants does not make a difference about the importance of the area. What is importance that both have a representative. The representative of an area with high number of population perhaps will need more administrative help. This will reduce the cost in general. You should remember that now we have more technology to help to be in contact with residences.

From: Jenny Frow Sent: 02 June 2014 22:03 To: Reviews@ Subject: Wyre Forest proposed boundary changes I am concerned about 2 of the local proposals in Wyre Forest in the West Midlands To split the community of Arley is ridiculous if one is meant to be considering local communities. Although divided by the River Severn it is a cohesive local entity. The lumping together of the Wribbenhall part of Bewdley with Kidderminster Foreign is a reasonable proposal but to add on about 200 residents of Stourport whose focus for shopping, medical services, council affairs, education etc is the town in which they live beggars belief. They will feel irrelevant in their proposed new ward as such a small randomly chosen part of it. Also what a mistaken thought renaming it Severn Valley! it is not the famous steam railway and residents will not relate to the name.`Wribbenhall is the oldest area in the district and it would be a travesty and a tragedy to lose that name. The historic name deserves to be retained and not discarded. It is sad that these unsuitable changes have been proposed due to a numbers game which has rigidly decided that equal numbers of voters per 3 councillors per ward should override other considerations of loyalty and geographical reasons for choosing the new wards. There is a worry that the changes will further alienate the electorate from taking part in and voting in "local" elections and the turn out country wide is already woefully low.` I am definitely not a political animal but feel that the above proposed changes are a sign that the commission has not taken on board the nature of the Wyre Forest region.` I only hope that this consultation is not just a paper exercize. There is a widespread cynicism about such consultations and a feeling that they are just there to tick the box....I know that many people are appalled but feel it is a waste of time saying so``which is a sad reflection on their belief in the voice of the people!```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

From: shaun gurney Sent: 21 June 2014 15:38 To: Reviews@ Subject: boundary review Wyre Forest The boudaries should remain the same as currently and councellors pay and expenses reduced. This would have exactly the same effect of saving money as the reason given by the present council. Councellors living in the Birchen Coppice, Rifle Range and Foley Park areas wont be bothered with the areas on the eastern side of the ward because it will be out of their way and as a result we will not get a fair share of their time and support. I live in   and the propsals would leave us isolated from our elected officials.  Yours sincerely  Shaun Gurney

Re the proposal for the Forest Gate Estate to no longer be part of Aggborough and Spennells Ward and become part of a new Hoobrook and Foley Park Ward.  I object to this proposal because I feel that the Forest Gate Estate has far more geographical, educational and social connections with Spennells as it currently stands. For local shopping amenities/pharmacy etc I go to Spennells and  children on this Estate are within the catchment area for Spennells Primary and  King Charles 1 schools.    My local Councillors have been extremely pro‐active and always let us know what is happening in the local area by regular communications. Regular PACT meeting are held at Spennells and I am concerned under the new proposals that (any) PACT meetings for the new area would not be so easy to attend and that the local service we get could be diluted.   My suggestion is for the Forest Gate Estate (148 houses) to remain within the Aggborough and Spennells Ward where we have been admirably served by conscientious and hard working councillors for  over 25 years.   Mrs. J Gutteridge

Your proposal for Wyre forest rural is not a viable proposition. The area is far too great to expect three councillors to provide competent service to the residents of this proposed ward, I say this with some knowledge as I served as a district councillor for the Wolverley ward for two terms and I found that to satisfy the residents this section of the new ward and to be conversant with the issues of the residents was fairly onerous but at least I was able to identify with them as I am local to this area. The possibilities within your proposed ward could result in lack of knowledge of local issues, possible excessive travel and failure to satisfy the queries of more isolated residents. We need to maintain the current situation within the joint Parish of Wolverley and Cookley with one member for each ward. Malcolm Hazlewood

I object strongly to the proposed boundary changes as this would mean Forest Gate and rest of the Bovis estates would become part of a predominantly business/industrial sector instead of a residential sector. The needs and desires of this area are definitely akin to those of other residential areas and have been excellently met to date by being part of the Aggborough and Spennells Ward. It would be a travesty to alter this for purely financial reasons and in my view would result in a fall in house prices in this area as a result. Consideration should be given to making the boundary the new link road (and NOT the A449) with premises to the West of this road being part of Foley Park and Hoobrook and buildings to the East remaining as part of Aggborough and Spennells. Please think very seriously about this issue before making any irreversible changes (unless there are pressing reasons OTHER THAN financial) and take into account the needs of residents as opposed to businesses - they are quite different.

District Council from the Boundary Commission

From: owens brian Sent: 24 June 2014 17:29 To: Reviews@ Subject: Draft recommendations on the New Electoral Arrangements for Wyre Forest District Council from the Boundary Commission Dear Sir/Madam Having read the Commission proposals and am in complete agreement with our current local councillors in that the proposed changes for the existing Aggborough and Spennells ward are ludicrous , Ihave lived in this ward for 38 years and our local council representatives for all that period have worked tirelessly on our behalf with us receiving regular updates via leaflet distribution and local PACT meetings and this is all to be thrown to the wind on a whim ! The proposed widening of the boundary doesnt make sense from a positive voter mix or the ability of the councillors to serve the ward . Birchen Coppice,Rifle Range and Foley park are mainly non voter areas ie. council estates whereas dare I suggest that the Aggborugh and Spennells existing ward is made up of mainly owner occupiers who perhaps care a little more for their local councillors efforts . I object most strongly to this proposal. B.J.Owens

We are residents of Kidderminster and wish to register our objections at the proposals to the new larger electoral wards, therefore we wish to remain as part of Aggborough and Spennells Ward and do not want to become part of a new ward to be called Hoobrook and Foley Park, this does not make any sense at all as we have no connection to Foley Park and the surrounding area namely Birchen Coppice and Rifle Range.
