At the moment some volunteers have been trained and are covering the Wednesday sessions. Now a long awaited decision has been made and soon the NCC staff will no longer run the Thursday and Friday library sessions. We do require more volunteers so that we can run a volunteer rota that is not too demanding for everyone. You are not expected to attend every week and you will be working with another person. Training will be provided. Library UpdateThe Northamptonshire County Council Cabinet have ratified the library proposal for

Woodford Halse library to continue as a community led library with volunteers. At the moment some volunteers have been trained and are covering the Wednesday sessions. Now a long awaited decision has been made and soon the NCC staff will no longer run

the Thursday and Friday library sessions.We do require more volunteers so that we can run a volunteer rota that is not too

demanding for everyone. You are not expected to attend every week and you will be working with another person. Training will be provided.

We will be running the summer reading challenge for children in the Library during the summer holidays

WOODFORD OPEN GARDENS

Many thanks to everyone who supported the Open Gardens afternoon on Sunday 2nd June. Our visitors showed great appreciation for the lovely gardens, enjoyable walks between them and of course delicious tea and cakes. Altogether we raised £350 which goes to the fund for new heating at St. Mary's Church.

Woodford Halse History Society

Our visit to the “Rollright Stones” in May was attended by Members and “Visitors” making up a total of 35 people. It was a very enjoyable and instructive evening with excellent weather and a very good Guide.

Due to the holiday period the next meeting will not commence until Tuesday 17th September which will mark the start of the next series of monthly exciting programmes dealing with a great variety of our historic background.

All meetings are at the Memorial Hall Woodford Halse commencing at 7-30pmTalks are usually of about one hour followed by refreshments with a social time together and there is an opportunity for a Raffle.

New members and visitors are always most welcome.

Annual Membership is £15. Visitors £3 per session
