Town of Avon—Charles Meshkun, 48, Middlcton, Conn., speeding. Arraigned before Police Justice George Stewart, he pleaded guilty and paid a fine of $15.

Town of Geneseo—Patricia A. Weid-erkehr, 26, Batavia, passing stop sign, fine of $5 imposed; Ford F. Ruggieri, 22, Olean, dangerous speed, fine of $10 im­posed. Both cases were disposed of by Geneseo Peace Justice Mark Welch.

Town of West Sparta—Grace A. Heineman, 40, East Aurora, speeding, fine of $10 imposed; Mary L. Mc Bride, 35, Warsaw, speeding, fine of $15 im-posed; Richard L. Hemnier, 22, Dans­ville. speeding, fine of $15 imposed, noes were imposed % West Sparta Peace Justice Alton Muchler

Mrs. Charles W. Weis Named To Important Republican Post

Two prominent New York Republican officials today were named to key com­mittee posts at the forthcoming Republi­can Regional Conference which will be held at Trenton, N. J., May 24 and 25.

Mrs. Charles W. Weis, Jr., Republican National Commirteewoman for New York was named chairman of the Com­mittee on Democrat Weaknesses. Mrs. Weis is from Rochester.

Horace C. Flanigan, New York State GOP Finance Chairman, was chosen as vice chairman of the Committee on Re­publican Organization.

Among the nationally prominent persons who will attend- the conference are Meade Alcorn, chairman of the Re­publican National Committee; Miss Ber* tha Adkins, assistant chairman and di­rector of the GOP Women's Division; Sen. Andrew Schoeppel of Kansas, chairman of the Republican Senatorial Committee; Rep. Richard M. Simpson of Pennsylvania, chairman of the Republi­can Congressional Committee; Former Gov. tyoward Pyle of Arizona, assistant to the President; Mrs. Peter Gibson president of the National Federation of Republican Women, and Charles Mc-Whorter, chairman of the Young Re­publican National Federation.

President Eiseifhower will address the conferees by telephone at the opening session Friday morning, May 24. Sher­man Adams, the assistant to the Presi­dent, is principal speaker at a banquet to be held the same evening.
