Learning from History
• Once upon a time there was a boy named Jared Cole with three goals:
1. To supply fresh and nutritious food to people in poverty
2. To support local farmers
3. To reduce pollution created in food
transport
• 6 years later…
How to get results
• Research. Know your community, talk to people, collaborate.
• Organize. Balance the creative side with a realistic time and monetary budget.
• Mobilize!! Tell your campus all about it.
• Wear costumes. It just feels right.
• Purchase. Talk to farmers and food banks.

How to move from the idea stage to the action stage
• Outreach. Tables, posters, flash mobs, video –get creative!
• Collaborate. Find other organizations across campus to help volunteer.
• Incentive. Patches, friends and fun.
• Lead. Strong voices make this project possible.
• Interact. Build relationships with your community.
