Use Of Colouring

The use of colour in the advert makes everything seem desaturated. This is because the advert uses dark colouring mixed with high key lighting, to make it seem almost life draining which links in with the adverts topic of heart disease. The use of colour is good for doing this because grey is a dark colour and as shown it makes the advert seem dull and void of any life, implying that heart disease does a similar thing where it drains the life out of someone.

Use Of DialogueThe adverts main dialogue consists of the dad talking to his son, telling him he won’t be coming home and doesn’t say why. This creates an element of confusion as it shows the boy looking confused by what his dad is telling him and eventually creating an element of fear as shown by the boy's facial expressions and the tone in his voice.

Use/Type Of Music

The music starts off really quite and can be easy to miss. But the effect it creates is an ominus one as it starts off quiet and gradually gets louder and more noticeable as the advert goes on. This then leads to the viewer feeling like something big is going to happen as the music gets louder and louder, but ultimately all that happens is the father disappearing.

Use Of Location The advert takes place in a school, this can suggest that because it’s for education that maybe the children in the classroom are being taught about heart disease. This could make an illusion effect in the boy’s head, making everything we just saw nothing but a terrible dream of his and not actually real.

Advert MessageThe adverts message is trying to say that you can’t predict heart disease as shown in the advert. The use of a young boy being told in the middle of a school day that his father has just died of heart disease is a great example as it shows you can be having a regular day, then you're told that someone you know has just been hospitalized or died because of heart disease. This method is a great way to show the adverts intended message as it shows that this can happen to anyone at anytime.

Use Of Social Media The advert at the end uses social media as a method to try and spread the message of heart disease further and make it more aware to people. This is an effective method as a lot of people nowadays use social media as a form of communication and maybe don’t watch much TV, allowing more people to be informed of heart disease and how sudden it can be.
