February 17, 1909 to the late Lovingly remembered John and Kate Lindeman and gi e\v Mother and Blythe U P in Grand Rapids where he re- ceived his education. On August 2, 1930, he was married to the former Beatrice Rasmussen who is among the survivors. Mr. Lindeman had been em- ployed by the Grand Rapids Press since 1928 until his retirement because of ill health. Surviving besides his wife, Beatrice, are: two sons, Robert of Grand Rapids and Gary at home; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Lee) Berdan and Mrs. Ronald (Gay) Ellsworth, both of Sparta; 10 grandchildren; five brothers, Bill of Spring Lake, Harold, Fred and Richard, all of Grand Rapids and Lester of Glendale, Cali- fornia; two sisters, Mrs. C. J. (Henrietta) Tietsma and Mrs. Lucile Solomon, both of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Francis Foley, vicar of the St. Matthew's Episcopal Church of Sparta, officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in Washington Park Cemetery, Grand Rapids. '-Bill" Hussey, aged 49, of 33 Mark Street, Sparta, who passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 9, at Butter- worth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Mr. Hussey was born on Janu- ary 12, 1921, in Grand Rapids to the late Ira W Hussey and Olive Cooper Hussey. He grew up in Sparta where he received his education and was an Army Vet- eran of World War II. Mr. Hussey was married to the former Donna Kocher on October 23, 1943 in Muskegon Heights and the Husseys had lived in this are a all of their married lives. He was employed as a machinist for the Sparta Foundry Division of the Muskegon Piston Ring Company. He is survived by his wife, Donna; one son, David A. Hussey of Sparta; one daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Marilynn) Smeed of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Olive Hussey of Grand Rapids; one sister, Miss Phyllis Hussey of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. David Morton and Rev. Charles McNary officiated at the funeral services. Burial was in Idlewild Cemetery, Kent City. Robert T. Barbour Bertha M. Smith Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Hessel- Cheslek Chapel in Sparta for Robert T. Barbour, aged 56, of 13 996 Reyburn Drive, Sparta, who passed away on Wednesday, July 8 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids after a linger- ing Illness. Mr. Barbour was born on June 13, 1914 to the late Theron Bar- bour and Nancy Smith Barbour in Pier son and grew up in Grand Rapids where he received his education. He and the former Opal Eikelberg were married on August 22, 1938. They had lived at Camp Lake for the past twenty years. Mr. Barbour was a machine operator for the Sparta Tool & Die Company until illness for- ced his retirement. Surviving besides his wife. Opal, is his mother, Mrs.T W. Barbour of Grand Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Floyd (Geraldine) Wyma of Grandville; one brother, Maurice Barbour of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Henrylloekstra, pas- tor of the Trinity Christian Re- formed Church, officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in Myers Cemetery, Sparta. Edith M. Wier Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hes- sel-Cheslek Chapel in Sparta for Mrs. Bertha M. Smith, aged 71, wife of H. Theron Smith of 240 Fremont Drive, Newaygo, who passed away on Sunday, July 12 at Gerber Memorial Hospital in F remont. The former Miss Bertha M. Holme was born on August 23, 1898 in Granite Falls, Minnesota to the late Carl and Mary Highum Holme. She was married on De- cember 1, 19G4 to Homer Theron Smith who is among the sur- vivors. The Smiths moved to Fre- mont from Comstock Park five years ago. Surviving besides her husband, are: one brother, William Holme of Park Rapids, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews, including Carl Day of Sparta. The Rev. M r . Hussey was m a r r i e d to the f o r m e r Donna Kocher on October 23, 1943 in Muskegon Heights and the Husseys had l ived in th is a r e a all of the i r m a r r i e d l ives . He was employed as a mach in i s t f o r the Spa r t a Foundry Division of the Muskegon P is ton Ring Company .
