WEAVING STRIPES, STRIPES AND MORE STRIPES2 day workshop
Tutor: Liz WilliamsonStripes are fundamental to weaving as they can be horizontal
or vertical; regular or irregular; wide or narrow; in muted, graduated or bold colours; organized or random; balanced or
unbalanced; textured, looped, flat or plain – the interpretations are endless. Stripes are an excellent way to learn the weave design process, exploring options on loom,
with yarns or on paper.
WEAVING MATTER: MATERIALS, FORM AND CONTEXT4 day workshop
Tutor: Liz WilliamsonThis workshop explores materials challenging what we think
of as appropriate for weaving. Many materials are considered suitable for weaving but experimenting with those that are
not, will expand an understanding of what can be woven and used to create a structure, surface, shape or form. What
these materials are, their context and association, can re-contextualize both matter and weaving.
