Our simplest worlds are often the deepest

Sculptor Constantin Brancusi spent his lifesearching for forms as simple and pure as

existed forever, outside time

Born a peasant in a remote area in

Romania, he spent most of his adult life in

Paris, where he lived in a single smallroom adjoining a sky lit studio.

Upon his death in 1957, he willed the

contents of his studio to the French

Government and they re-created the

studio itself into a museum

On the afternoon of December 18, 1994,

to men and women found an astonishing

discovery. They found a cave f ull of 

paintings on the wall.

There are more than 300 images painted

on the wall

It is now called Chauvet cave

The paintings were made 30,000 BC
