We know how precious our families are to all of us, and the recent AIM Family gathering in Savannah, Georgia was outstanding to say the least. history often repeats itself when it comes to family generations. AIM Preferred Member Paul Eilers of Conway, Arkansas, experienced this when both his mother’s father and his own father died of cancer. Paul recognized unhealthy lifestyle choices made while he was growing up, so he made a mental note to himself not to make the same mistakes when he had children of his own.

As a sports enthusiast throughout his education leading to the college years, Paul believed that what you put into your body has an enormous effect on your health. “Too many people rely on doctors, so they don’t take responsibility for their own health,” Paul surmised, decid-ing to be his primary health care practitioner even though he believes in doctors.

After going through the seemingly endless health information available on-line, Paul came across AIM in 1999. For fifteen years now, he and his wife, Laura, have been Members of the company that provides Nutrition That Works!

This habit is a nutritional blessing since Brady is a picky eater, just as his father was as a child. 2015 AIM Conference

Arizona is one of the Four Corner states, so it’s fitting that the theme of our 2015 AIM Conference is “Staying Connected.” State boundaries may be nothing more than abstract, imaginary lines determining legal jurisdictions, but the connections you make at these AIM events are very real and can last you a lifetime. Scottsdale, part of the greater Phoenix area, is filled with excitement and adventure for the whole AIM Family.

The Great OutdoorsScottsdale rests in the heart of the biodiverse

ecosystem that is the Sonoran Desert. Explore nature at nearby Saguaro National Park, an hour and a half drive, to see those famous cacti from the old Wild West pictures and Far Side cartoons. Or why not take a hike at North Scottsdale-adjacent McDowell Mountains? With over fifty miles of trail, you’ll get plenty of fresh air and exercise. From there, you’ll have a panoramic view of the surrounding scenery and perhaps chance upon some wildlife. Also, you’ll be only a day trip (about 7 hours roundtrip) away from the grandest of canyons, but if you prefer staying

close, there’s still plenty to do.

The Great IndoorsIf you’re staying put and connected to

the greater Phoenix area but still want to sneak a peek at the native flora and fauna, then there’s the highly touted Desert Botanical Gardens located in Phoenix proper. Deserts are known for their heat and speaking of heat, why not check out

the even hotter but likely air-conditioned hall of Flame Firefighter Museum.

This museum explores the history of firefighting and honors those noble, red-suspender-wearing

fire men of years past. If science is your thing, visit the Arizona Science

Center where there are scores of educational exhibits and interactive science experiments for you to learn from. If your geek-lust isn’t slaked by that, then get yourself over to the ASU planetarium for a guided tour of the purpling desert sky.

Shopping and DiningShopping and dining opportunities abound

near the sixth biggest city in the USA. Downtown Scottsdale has over three hundred places to shop and nearly one hundred places to eat! Or check out Scottsdale’s Fashion Square and scope out the latest apparel trends. In Phoenix, the Biltmore Fashion Park boasts world-class shopping as well as high-class dining.

Red Rush

heart disease is the leading cause of death for men in the United States and half of those men didn’t experience any symptoms prior to their demise. That’s a sad, unsettling fact for those of us who are or care about men. A slew of factors like obesity, diet, and high-blood pressure can contribute to the likelihood of heart disease. Australia & New Zealand ConventionMarch 20-23, 2014 • Newcastle/Hunter Valley

Sixty-five Australian and New Zealand Members enjoyed four days at the seaside town of Newcastle in New South Wales in March, celebrating their win in the annual contest and their support of The AIM Companies. Phillip Jermann from Quality Assurance at AIM International gave three presentations including the introduction of AIM Red Rush. Ramiah Selwood (Blue Diamond Director) and Margaret Loveday’s (Director) gave educational presentations and launched their own books. Queensland Directors Veronica Griffin, Nikola Wilkie, Peta Zafir and Rosemary Greer provided much expertise during the Practitioner Panel session. Members also enjoyed the traditional Testimonial hour, an afternoon at the hunter Valley Village Gardens followed by dinner at a local winery.

Raw Truth Wellness MorningMarch 22, 2014 • Columbia, South Carolina

hundreds of people filed into the Columbia Conference Center to attend the 3rd annual Raw Truth Wellness Morning. Dr. James hébert, health Sciences Professor of Epidemiology at the Arnold School of Public health kicked off the meeting with his talk on “The Anti-Inflammatory Power of Food as Preventive Medicine.”

Later in the day, Leré Robinson, AIM Star Sapphire Director, and Keith Duff, AIM Regional Meeting and Training Director did a presentation on AIM’s products and opportunities titled “Some of the Products We Love, From a Company We Love.”

In between speakers, the attendees gave testimonials, snacked on No Bake CoCoa Bites (made with CoCoa LeafGreens™ and ProPeas™), and visited vendor booths set up by Columbia’s healthy restaurants, organic farmers, fitness gurus, and other community businesses. The event ended with door prizes and a Q&A discussion paneled by the presenters.

First things first: what are telomeres and why should they be long? Telomeres protect the ends of our chromosomes, keeping DNA from unravelling and affecting the speed at which our cells age. The shorter our telomeres, the shorter lives we live and the poorer our health. The longer our telomeres, the longer we live in good health.

With that out of the way, the fact is that telomeres are not that easy to measure. you’d have to undergo specialized diagnostic testing to determine their length. The good thing is that it is not necessary to have them measured because a scientific study has proven that you can increase the measurable length of your telomeres by making four lifestyle changes.
