Livable Workable Georgetown is a community self assessment conducted though a survey. Respondents were able to identify and comment on an array of issued facing the Georgetown neighborhood in Seattle. Funded by the Department of Neighborhoods Neighborhood Matching Fund, the LWG survey was able to register a diversity of opinions and experiences, in order to let the chips fall and highlight the diversity of narratives about the neighborhood.

!!Overall!there!was!very!little!variation!(<1!point)!between!the!scores!given!by!renters!and!homeowners!on!these!issues.!However,!they!did!differ!on!a!few!issues.!Homeowners!rated!crime,!manufacturing,!and!pollution!lower!than!renters!did,!showing!a!greater!sensitivity!to!and!dislike!for!these!elements.!On!the!other!hand,!homeowners!rate!the!community’s!location!and!supply!of!newer!buildings!with!a!higher!score!than!renters!do.!Renters!may!be!more!reliant!on!public!transportation!to!reach!other!parts!of!the!city,!and!they!may!feel!threatened!by!the!upscale,!newer!buildings.!!!
