Mission: to promote the cultural, artistic and economic renaissance of historic Little Havana, to accelerate the transformation of its arts district using arts and culture to bring people of different cultures together, to promote economic revitalization and tourism, and to provide a venue for visual artists and entertainers to showcase their work while linking the artistic community to the public.

Miami High School Professional Society (M.A.P.S.)

M.A.P.S. enables Miami High school alumni professionals to give back to their Little Havana institution, instilling in students the values of perseverance, hard work and friendship, along with a solid educational base.   Serve as role models to future Miami High and other

public school graduates;   Provide scholarship funds, recognition and awards, school

supplies, and other resources to MHS students and their feeder schools;

  Volunteer at career day events at MHS and their feeder schools in Little Havana and elsewhere.

  17th Avenue Safety and Beautification Project: After several years of pushing, we have finally realized our goal: Construction on SW 17th Ave. starts Fall 2013 — we soon will have a safer and more attractive road, a benefit to all drivers and residents!

  A Historic Shenandoah: We are currently working with the City’s Historic Preservation office to maximize this valuable history.

  No Mr. Mayor, the "Age of the Library is Probably *NOT* Ending”: When County Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced that they would have to close 22 libraries, MSNA was one of the many vocal leaders in the opposition, demanding the County 'try harder' to solve the problem. The result? Shenandoah library was one of the first venues to be removed from the kill list. Others soon followed.
