My Experience With Udemy
Learning Curve
● It can easily take you couple of weeks before you feel confident in creating and publishing your online courses
● Start with something simple, where you feel more at home - screen recording is the simplest way to start
● Communicate with your students and ask what they need● Give for FREE to first couple of hundred of students● Ask for honest reviews - IMPORTANT
● Upload videos → try to keep them under 7 min● Upload:
o tutorials → anything which is helpful to youo audio files → do a podcast; interview a domain expert to enhance
your course; offer revenue shareo images, presentation, mashup, text
● Create assignments: Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blanks, True/False → it helps a lot to enhance knowledge, and students feel there is greater value if course has it
What Can You Do On Such A Platform?
● Set clear Course Goals, Intended audience, Requirements, Instructional level
Think About Your Target Audience (Buyer Persona)
● Coupons are the only way you can maximize 97% of revenue● Wherever you promote your course, always give a coupon link,
otherwise Udemy keeps 50%● There is a significant difference if you bring a customer to your course, or
Udemy does
Coupons
Analytics
● use the analytics to understand how students feel about your course● its a great market research → read their comments to see what else they
are missing on the market and create such a course
