Flashback: A break or stoppage in the plot of a selection to tell about an event in the past. Through this flashback section we tend to learn important things about the character.
Literary Terms
Foreshadowing: Hints or clues presented early in a piece of writing about events that may occur later in the selection.
Literary Terms
Idiom: A collection of words or a phrase that cannot be taken word for word or literally; the phrase has a second meaning that is different than what is expected.
