1. The Start of the story should play, “Where do the Children Play” by Cat Stevens. This movie is set in the

future and the song discusses the changes that people are

making, and expressing concern about how the changes

will affect the children. The story opens with the children

on another planet. Because of all the rain the children

can’t play outside. Also, the melody reminds me of rain.

Maybe because of the repetitive guitar beats.

2. When the students are presenting their poems about the

sun The Beatles song, “Here Comes the Sun” should play.

This is a very childlike song which is suitable for a class of

children. It is even more appropriate because the topic of

the song is the Beatles discussing sunshine.

3. Alice Cooper’s School’s out for summer is perfect to start

when the students are teasing Margot and locking her in

the closet. The melody is very aggressive and punishing

which is how the students are acting. Afterwards the

song talks about how school’s out. This is perfect because

the teacher is not there and the students are out of

school enjoying themselves.

4. The first 30 seconds of Apologize by One Republic are

perfect for the very end of the song. The melody is very

soft, but it has a lot of emotion. The song is talking about

a relationship, but the basic point is that it is too late to

apologize. I think that sentiment applies perfectly to

Margot. They took the sun away from her, and even

though they may be sorry, I don’t think she’ll forgive

them.
