THE PACESETTER: The largest homebuilder in Los Angeles County is KB Home with 337 units sold in the county last year, according to data provided by Metrostudy, a Hanley Wood company. The L.A.-based company constructed 9,829 new homes nationwide last year, an increase of 20 percent compared with 2015.

EXECUTIVE: Timothy Kane retired as chief executive and president of MBK Homes last month. He was replaced by Craig Jones as president of the company, effective April 1.
