• On 1st April 2009 there were 1,855,974 people registered with a GP practice
• In the 2008-09 financial year there were:• 32 million prescription items dispensed• One million claims for dental treatments• 600k ophthalmic claims• 166k patient amendments and almost 58k new patient
registrations• £716m spent on Family Practitioner Services• Over 84% of the population in NI had some form of
interaction with a family practitioner
