ADA is the American with Disabilities Act The Americans with Disabilities Act creates
the opportunity for everyone with a disability to live a life of freedom and equality.
Passed by the Congress and signed into law by the President on July 26, 1990.
What is ADA?
The ADA protects the civil rights of people with disabilities in all aspects of employment, in accessing public services such as transportation, and guaranteeing access to public accommodations such as restaurants, stores, hotels and other types of buildings to which the public has access.

The ADA National Network is funded through the U.S. Department of Education, National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR).
Who is the National ADA Network?
There are 10 regional ADA Centers that provide up-to-date information, referrals, resources, and training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

How many accessible spaces are required in parking lots?
In addition the 2010 Accessibility Standards require that at least one of every six accessible parking spaces be van-accessible.
Where is a service animal allowed to go?◦ Generally, a service animal is allowed to go
wherever the person with the disability can go, meaning that they can go wherever the public is allowed to go.
What about a restaurant? Is it hygienic to allow service animals to go where people eat?◦ In a restaurant, a service animal must be allowed
to accompany the person with a disability in all areas that are open to other patrons.
