PATENTED INNOVATIONFor years, ELMET had been using conventional dosing pumps within its own operations for sam-pling tools and for pilot series productions. The disadvantages brought about by similar machines were reasons enough for ELMET to develop its own system that would set new standards in re-spect of mixing accuracy and utilization of material.

Along with a sophisticated and robust mechanics that was substantially shaped by the experience gained by staff, the control technology consist-ing of two matching control loops represents a genuine innovation patented all over the world.

ELMET follows its own modular product philoso-phy, even in respect of dosing systems: The use of standardized components and assemblies creates a reliable basis and allows for maximum flexibility in adapting to customers’ requirements. The control technology employed is permanently being advanced and now, in the second genera-tion, it is adapted even better to the needs of the operating staff.

In the development of the ELMET dosing system, particular attention was also turned to operation costs to be kept as low as possible. The weekly inspection recommended lasts a few minutes only, and maintenance once every three months can simply be carried out by the customer’s trained staff. The particularly economic consumption of electricity and compressed air amounts to less than 2 Euro Cent per kilogram of material con-sumption.

STATE-Of-ThE-ArT CONTrOLIn the control of the TOP 3000 series, ELMET sets a benchmark with regard to ease of operation and graphic appearance. Ever increasing demands in respect of documentability, integration into the process control system and the flexible combi-nation of dosing systems can thus be covered without a gap.

PrOVEN AND TESTED hUNDrEDS Of TIMESThe mechanical construction of the TOP 3000 S has largely remained unchanged since its market launch. Robust piston pumps in conjunction with changeable fol-lower plates form the basis for all ELMET dosing systems.

OPTIMIzED SPACEwith the function staying the same, the TOP 3000 F features an outline with a width that is adjusted to the dimensions of 200 liter standard drums. This is the alternative to the TOP 3000 S, depending on space re-quirements.

SIMPLEX 1+1One dosing system (DS) feeds an injection molding machine (IMM).

Depending on production volumes and shift work, demands on dosing systems can change very quickly during running operations.

Flexible combination options of the ELMET dosing systems increase usability of the production cells. By simply connecting the dosing sys-tems through commercial network cables and by activating certain parameters in the control system, single machines are turned into an intelligently co-operant plant in no time at all.

Being a full system supplier, ELMET produces itself all components for the supply of liquid silicone rubber (LSR) for the injection molding process. The flow volume of components matches material consumption.

Color pigments and additives have a significant impact on the quality of the raw material and are mostly very expensive. Due to integration into the control system of the dosing system, injecting is performed with maximum precision.

In the long term, for each business activity only the commercial success is relevant. Only those businesses will endure that have their cost struc-ture under control and are therefore competitive to operate on the market. The ELMET dosing system of the TOP 3000 series is a tessera to reducing direct production costs. with its patented two-

stage control, ELMET guarantees less than 1% of residual quantity in the 200 liter drums. This will save up to 4% against conventional dosing pumps. The saving that can thus be achieved de-pends directly on material consumption and the cost of material.
