2015 2015 -- 2016 Annual Report2016 Annual Report
Chairman’s Message 1
From the Lions Pride Chairman/CEO
DuWayne “Dewey” Carl “Lions Pride, today’s hope, tomorrow’s Help.”
Lions Pride, “Today’s Help, Tomorrow’s Hope”, is that really happening? In 2014-2015 donor-directed interest earnings provided a camping experience for 101 campers. This year, I'm proud to report the Lions Pride Endowment Fund provided a camping experience for 140 campers. With each passing year based on the level of giving by Clubs, individual Lions, Lioness and non-Lions the Lions Pride Endowment Fund is increasing the number of campers we provide with the life changing experience a week at Lions Camp offers.
I am also pleased to report that every project of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation also received funding from the Lions Pride Endowment Fund this past year.
The goal of Lions Pride is to preserve, protect and provide for future generations served by all the Wisconsin Lions Foundation projects by growing a restricted donor-directed endowment fund of 25 million dollars. The endowment will only continue to grow with your unwavering support.
The Lions Pride Board and I realize the need to serve more people through the WLF projects continues to grow and with that need, the financial requirements also increase. Your gifts and on-going support are helping Lions Pride ensure the future of the WLF statewide projects for children and adults with special needs as we work together, to reach, touch and improve lives.
Ray Hempel, was a Lion, who understood the true meaning of improving the lives of others. In honoring Lion Ray and his personal dedication, Lions Pride introduced the Ray Hempel Fellowship two years ago. Since the introduction, numerous Lions, Lioness and non-Lions alike have been honored with a Hempel Fellowship.
Your Hempel Fellowship contribution of $1,000 is deposited into the permanent Lions Pride Endowment Fund. Interest earnings help support Lions Camp and the other Wisconsin Lions Foundation statewide projects both today and tomorrow. I truly believe there is no more fitting tribute for a Club member, spouse or treasured friend, than to recognize and celebrate that person’s unique accomplishments, extraordinary dedication, support and service to others than by bestowing the honor of a Hempel Fellowship.
Lion Ray Hempel had a personal vision to fulfill. So do I, establishing a permanent donor-directed endowment fund to provide significant financial support for Lions Camp and the other WLF statewide projects now and for future generations. I am confident that with your continued support that vision will become a reality. With Pride,

Financial/Estate Planning Information
For the past year Lions Pride has been working together with experts from three different financial institutions to provide the Lions of Wisconsin with information on estate and financial planning, planned giving and other options available to individual investors. In every issue of the Wisconsin Lion newspaper the people below submit articles to help Lions and Lioness learn ways to provide for their families while leaving the opportunity open to give to Lions Pride or other favorite charity.
Lions Pride is committed to reaching beyond the scope of fundraising by providing information relevant to everyone regardless of their affinity to Lions Pride.

“Talk about a win/win. The kids come to camp for a week at no cost and we as donors get to experience the satisfaction of ena-bling that experience! Pat and I are proud to support Lions Camp and the WLF through the Lions Pride Endowment Fund.” PDG Al & Pat Wortz
“Lions Camp gave our entire family what it need-ed, it is one of the reasons we have chosen to donate to the Lions Pride Endowment Fund so other children can have the same life changing experience”. Kathy Sommers
"It is up to the Lions and Lioness to continue to provide Camp, Children's Vision Screening and the other WLF service projects. Every individual Lion and Lioness should do it, give to Lions Pride so we can keep the place open for future campers.” Lion Denny & PADP Pat Daniels
“We started donating to Lions Pride in an effort to make sure Lions Camp would be there for future generations. But we wanted to do more and that is when I started researching the Matching Gift Program offered by my company.” Lions Kurt & Sharon Mueller
