Free Meals for Our Students
The Kennewick School District is offering free "grab-and-go" meals for children 18 years and younger at several school sites and along several bus routes during the school closure. Check
the KSD Website for the location nearest to you.
Continuous Distance Learning
Kennewick School District has implemented a districtwide plan for
Continuous Distance Learning, consistent with the latest guidance from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction
(OSPI).
Teachers will be:Developing and communicating weekly plans and
schedules for student learning.Contacting and engaging families/students.
Providing content/learning activities for students.Monitoring student learning and providing feedback.
El Aprendizaje Continuo a la Distancia

We’re working to make sure that as many of our Kennewick School District students as possible have access to technology at home during the school closure. The first step in this process is to learn which of our
students do not currently have access at home. If your student currently has no access to technology, please go to the KSD Website
and follow instructions for the survey in English or Spanish.

Highly Effective Teacher Qualification The Kennewick School District continues to be committed to hiring and retaining “Highly Effective” Teachers. The average teacher in Kennewick has over fourteen years of experience and possesses a Master’s Degree. In addition, all Kennewick School District teachers are encouraged to pursue National Board Teacher Certification. Under the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, part of ESSA, parents have a right to request information on the professional qualifications of their child’s teachers. PRIVACY ACTThe Federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974
permits the Kennewick School District to release certain information known as “directory information,” to certain people or institutions, unless parents request, in writing,
that such information not be released. In many cases, requests for this type of information come from news
media or the armed forces for recruiting purposes. Directory information may include: 1) student name,
address, and telephone number, 2) date and place of birth; 3) participation in officially recognized activities and sports; 4) weight and height of athletic team members; 5) dates of attendance; 6) photographs or other similar information.
Photographs may occasionally be taken of students for use in the news media or school district publications.
