WORKING BEE

On Sunday 18

th May a small group of very dedicated staff, students and parents produced a fantastic outcome for the

school with the development of a seating area near the gr 3-5 rooms for students to eat their afternoon snack. The area was transformed from a barren area to one in which the school and students can be proud of. A power of work was completed with seats and retaining walls being constructed, shrubs planted, edging formed, top soil and chip bark spread. It was great to see so many children pitching in helping their parents out. A big thank you to Jai Lincoln for his assistance in planning and coordinating the project, to Daryl Wade for his expertise in managing the construction of the boxed seating. Thank you to Jill Ramsay and Carol Kovacic for cooking the bbq and Leanne Tingwell for her assistance on the day. Thank you to the following families for your terrific contributions – Anquetil, Smith, Wade, Browne, Alder, Kouranos, Haynes, Charalambous, Kovacic, Alder, Forbes, Conlon, Duncan, Turner and Bai families The special movie ticket was won by the Wade family.

GRADE 1 PARENTS

CyberSafety Parent Night Wednesday 28th May, 7:00pm

Can you honestly say you are sure of what your child is experiencing and

is exposed to online?

Studies show that many children are simply not telling their parents or carers if they are bullied or experience an unwanted ap-

proach, because they are afraid of being banned from access to the internet and their social networks.

Did you know that more than a third of children regularly using Facebook are under the age of 13?

Did you realise that MPGs (Multi Player Games) such as Call of Duty have a chat room style interface?

Did you know that Club Penguin is open to any age group to join?

Please come to this important evening. Listen to the ACMA expert and ask him how you can keep your child safe online.

If you haven’t already done so, please notify your child’s teacher or the GK office if you are planning to attend this event.

Leigh Fatchen

(on behalf of the ICT Committee)

If you have room you could add the reply slip again.

Please complete the attached slip to indicate your attendance at this important event.

I /we will be attending this important Cybersafety Parent Information session to be held on Wednesday 28th May.
