ProfileProfile is probably your most important tool on LinkedIn,

but it is up to you who can see it. In Account & Setting you can make it visible to everyone, your network only or your connections. There are also two versions of your profile: Public Profile with short address (for example http://www.linkedin.com/in/jamith) and Full Profile with all information you provided about yourself including Reading List and Apps you added (for example Slide Show) and your connections.

The best way to create/edit/update your profile is to open your resume file and copy and paste information to your profile.

Home Page - Network Updates What you do on your Home Page may be

something others see on their Home Page. Very important position on your Home Page is

occupied by the headline that says: “Network Updates” and right after that: “Tell your network what you are doing.” What you write in this innocent looking space will be visible to your whole network under Status Updates. So please open your text editor and write your thought there and then spell check it if your browser won't.

They will also see every connection you recently made.

Making connections LinkedIn allows you to add connection in

several different ways. First it will look at you profile and look-up people working at companies you have listed. The results will be shown right at your home page under People you may know (top right) and Just joined LinkedIn (bottom of page).
