Computer Assisted TranslationTerminology Management• If you want a word translated the same way every time, as with slogans,

trademarks and so forth, you use terminology management. A dictionary is provided for each target language and the translator adheres closely to this throughout the project.

Machine Translation (MT)• Whether the method is example-based, statistical or rule-based, the goal is

to have automated translation that is as close as possible to human quality. Some workflows include authoring guides for content writers to improve accuracy and post-MT review in place of the human translation stage.

Translation Memory (TM)• Creating TM means storing up sentences that mean the same thing in a pair

of languages. This can be done while you're translating or after the fact by aligning the source and product from previous translation work. Using TM is matching whole or partial sentences on a new translation job to benefit from the stored information.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle• Reduce the amount you need to translate by eliminating duplicate work.• Reuse appropriate terminology easily through referring to other work done

by you and anyone else who populates your TM storage vault or customized dictionary.

• Recycle exact matches automatically by using software to analyze the document for matches in the TM before beginning the translation work.
