We publicly and solemnly acknowledge Jehovah, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, to be our God, our Redeemer, and our Sanctifier. We take the Word of God for ou ·r rule of faith and practice, promising, by the assistance of Divine grace, to lead a life of piety towards God, and of uprightness and of benevolence towards all mankind ;-to maintain private devotion, and (if the head of a family,) to maintain famil prayer ;-to remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, to attend the public worship of God, and the ordinances of the church ;-to watch over each other with all Christian fidelity and brotherly kindness; to maintain the discipline of a Gospel church, to sup-port the Gospel ministry, and in all proper ways to promote the preaching of the doctrines, duties, and precepts of the Bible. Thus we solemn ly promise and covenant to live , depending on God for strength and grace to guide us into truth.

Can you join with us in this Covenant?

(The church will rise.)

July 5,

At a meeting of the Church, held on Thursday evening, January 8th, 1885, the following resolution and rule was adopted.

Resolved, That the Ecclesiastical principles and rules be amended by the insertion after Article Eighth, an Article which shall read as follows:

Members of this Church who shall voluntarily absent themselves without good excuse from the Communion table for two years, shall, after such labor with them as the Pastor and Standing Committee shall deem sufficient, forfeit the fellowship of the Church, and their names be taken from the roll of those in good and regular standing, until such time as they shall seek and obtain restoration to fellowship.
